Today, however, things are a bit different. I see one ebay seller selling one spoon for $47 plus $20 postage from overseas. That's $67 for one spoon. Is it worth it? I don't know. Although the wreck contained a lot of early 1800s cargo. Some were from the 18th century. Some of the items belonged to those people that had purchased the wares many years ago, as in the case of our spoons with prior ownership name engraved on each piece. Chinese Warrior wood carving Ching Dynasty antique
Here's a 22.5 inch tall. 8 inch wide and 5 inch deep wood carving of a Chinese warrior that weight over 5-10 pounds. Chinese characters are seen in the pictures and as I recall, it notes the Ching Dynasty and it took 600 + thousand cuts to make the statue. Note the age and normal wear and cracking. The right foot has been repaired. I was told that a parrot once stood on its left shoulder, but has removed ages ago. Quite the piece for a nook or mantel.
