This is a lot of two silk irons that both have enamel handles. The largest one is 7 inches long. The side of the largest is decorated with a man fishing on one side and flowers on the other side. The enamel handle has floral decoration. It is signed China on the bottom. The large one has some loss to the enamel handle. The smaller silk iron is 4 ½ inches long. It is decorated with a dragon on the side. The enamel handle is decorated with Mandarins sitting around a table. There is wear to the high points on the enamel handle. The bottom is signed Made in China. We date both of these to between 1900 and 1920.

Presented is a very fine Chinese oriental hand painted silk and embroidered fan. This beautiful fan has a great amount of work that has gone into this piece. The fabric portion of the fan appears to be silk and entirely hand painted. There are two women who are finely detailed and portrayed absolutely beautifully. They are surrounded by landscape and wisteria blossoms. Many of the blossoms are hand embroidered with silk thread. The fan guards are made of wood and are also entirely hand carved. The fan base is also made of hand pierced wood. These little pieces of pierced wood are also each decorated with hand painted gold decoration. Chinese Screen Vintage 8 Panel Room Divider Decorated With Birds Silk Borrder
Beautiful vintage 8 panel screen room divider. Each panel measures 18 by 53 inches so when fully open it measures 12 feet wide by 53 inches high. Each panel has silk and paper and floral scenes or bird scenes. Appears to be some type of needle work but do not quote me as I am not an expert. Has a tear in the front as pictured and a few tears to the back of the panel as well as some staining on the paper on one of the panels. Gorgeous antique Chinese piece. That can be worn as a sort of obi belt or scarf-or displayed as art. White silk base(lined in floral blue satin) with extremely fine and intricate embroidery, velvet butterflies, and fringe. White canvas top with two loops on the ends. Please note that it is being sold as-is-there are significant water markings throughout, discoloration to the canvas, and small tears and general wear. It is still entirely wearable and not fragile, but definitely not suitable for a perfectionist. The canvas top measures 44.5" in length by 3.5" width. The hanging pieces are 31.5" including fringe.

Antique Chinese Silk Iron – Brass w/Embossed Design – Pan Iron
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This is an antique brass Chinese silk iron(also known as a pan iron) with an embossed stylized floral design on both sides. The bottom of the iron is stamped“China” and the end of the handle is wood. It likely dates from between 1890 and 1914. Irons like this were used in China to iron silk by putting hot coals in the bowl. It measures approx. 3 ¾ inches long with handle by 2 ¼ wide and stands 1 ¼ inches tall. The bowl portion is approx. 2 7/8 inches long across the top and the handle alone is 1 5/8 inches long. The iron is a solid piece in very good condition with a very tiny nick on the lip above the handle. As visible in the photos there is some discoloration and tarnish due to age and use over the decades. All-in-all. A charming example of a Chinese silk iron. ANTIQUE Brass Chinese SILK IRON Pan w/ wood handle ~ Heavy brass Oriental Silk Iron weighs more than 1 pound- measures 9 7/8" wide to end of black painted wood handle and 4" wide at bottom. Beautifully etched scrolls on sides of pan. Bottom has green felt- which is nice for display. There is patina and a little wax inside pan- I will try to clean this out before shipping. Interesting info found online- Before about the 10th century. Cloth was ironed with smooth wooden or glass pieces and a pounding stick. Heat was not used until the 16th century in Europe. By then, pressing irons were metal pans with long handles. A piece of charcoal was put in the pan to heat the bottom and the heated pan was rubbed over the cloth. This crude iron was gradually improved. Charcoal was replaced by a heated iron rod to avoid the charcoal ashes that ... moresometimes fell on the cloth. Next came special box irons with handles and pointed fronts. They were shaped like the electric and steam irons used today.

antique 19th C CHINESE Carved LACQUERED WOOD RUYI SILK THREAD WINDER Lotus Peony
A fine antique 19th Century circa CHINESE HAND CARVED LACQUERED WOOD SILK THREAD WINDER. There are Prunus blossoms carved in relief on one side. And Orchid flowers on the other. The lacquer colors are iron-red and dark brown, and I can see touches of gold on the floral stems. The shape of the winder is called"ruyi" Several similar winders can be seen on page 40 of Thread Winders. A Collector's Guide by Diana Pelham Burn, and also on page 244 of Antiques Source Book by Martin Miller. This winder measures 14 cm(5 5/8" long x 7 cm(2 3/4" wide at the widest point x 3 cm(1 1/8" wide at the thinnest point. It is 1 cm thick. There is some surface wear. But it is smoothed with patina from long use. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. This Chinese/Japanese tapestry is in mint condition and exquisite! It's hard to believe it dates circa 1918 and most probably late 19th century. My neighbor tells me her in-laws lived in Tien Tsin. China, circa 1918, where her husband was born, and that this was given to them as a wedding present. Her husband's parents were tobacco merchants at that time. My neighbor is eighty-five years young and has kept this treasured piece in a box, checking it for wear over the years, feeling it was too nice to use. I am familiar with fabrics, have sewn many clothes in my day, and I attest that the quality of the work is to the very highest standards in all ways. I hope someone can appreciate the many hours that went into producing this item. Pair of Antique Chinese Brass Silk Irons Up for auction is a beautiful pair of antique Chinese coal-heated brass silk irons. They measure 9" long by 4-1/2" wide by 3-1/4" high. The brass bowls have graceful lotus-shaped rims and are embossed with a series of Lu characters against an allover geometric pattern. The handles are unusual and exceptionally fine. they are carved oxbone or similar. The handles can be removed from their holders. One is carved with a four-toed dragon circling the handle. The other depicts a woman carrying a long branch with a hanging basket that is presumably filled with silkworms. A small person is at her side and pine trees and branches frame the scene. This Robe will be a later 20th Century reproduction of an Imperial robe as the condition is so good. Two sided Chinese Table Top Silk Screen Superb embroidery work on the Gold coloured Cat. The eyes and red bow are striking. The screen and stand are in very good condition. Having the red authenticating mark on the screen. The materials are wooded stand and frame with glass screen. It comes boxed in a lovely green patterned presentation box. Which appears to be old and has some wear particularly the lining paper on the inside of the lid A superb piece. The screen is 20 cms in diameter and total height is 37 cms.
