The paint has some chips and flakes. The wood has some small cracks and the very top right corner of the screen has a chip in the wood. There is a drawer in the front bottom of the screen. This brush pot is about 6.6" 16.8cm) high by 4.9" 12.7cm) wide. It is deeply carved with scholars reading a scroll. Playing board games etc. They are surrounded by pine trees and bamboo plants. There are slight surface cracks in the bamboo but otherwise it is in very good condition. Underneath the base is a black ink painted mark. I think it dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. Today I am offering a rare Antique Chinese Export Silver Inkwell& Pen Stand of a jiao or litter carried by two coolies Dates from around1890 and Signed“LW” I think(look at my photos of the inside of the lid. inside the lid together with Chinese character marks. These pieces are mounted to a wooden base. The wooden base as you can see in my photos is damaged. The silver is in good shape. Untouched by me. Not polished. I assume it is sterling, but I did not test it. A fine piece of Chinese export silver. Approximately 7" from back figure to front figure and about 3 ½” tall. Glass liner.
