It is about 13.4 cm or about 4 7/8" tall(not including the base) About 50 grams(not including the base) It is very elegantly carved. Not over done like the more recent examples. It is in good condition as shown- the item in her left hand looks like it is missing its end. And there is a natural hole in the coral on her left cheek that is full of dirt or similar. SCROLL DOWN FOR PICTURES(35 pictures below) This auction is for an antique Qing Dynasty Chinese Kernel Carving made from an Olive Nut(also called an Olive Stone) Together with its base. It is engraved with a micro poem on the base. About 44 mm long. Qing Dynasty. It is carved with 28 human faces. Opening shutters, and about 104 Chinese characters. In the olive nut engraving. There are two ladies sitting and drinking in the front of the boat-shaped olive nut, with 2 servants standing behind them. Both sides of the cabin are carved with 4 windows, one on each side has shutters which can be opened and closed easily(one is missing one shutter and the other is missing part of a shutter) There are 6 people viewing the moon on the top, and two more on each side looking out of two upper windows, two people by the rear window, and two people standing ... morein the middle, and two more at the back end. Good condition as shown- appears to be missing one set of shutter from one side and part of a shutter on the other. Otherwise fine. Kernel carving has a long history in China. But it was unclear about when it originated from; its earliest record was in the Song Dynasty, more than 1000 years ago. Carving of this quality disappeared at the end of the 20th Century. ANCIENT- EYES Chinese Bronze Qianlong Imperial Seals- Scroll Weights Click on the thumbnails to view more photos P air of Imperial Bronze Dragon Seals: Qianlong Marks and Period This large pair of dragon handled bronze seals date from the period of Qianlong(1735-1795) Emperor of the Qing Dynasty(1644-1911) in China. The rectangular base measures 8 ½ inches by 7 ¼ inches(21.5 cm x 19.5 cm) The dragon handle stands up about 3 inches tall(8 cm. The top portions of the seals are covered with chiseled and engraved patterns of dragons and swirling lines representing the ocean or the sky. Standing on top of all this is the dragon handle. The bottom of the seals are covered in archaic old Chinese pictogram script(see closeup photos) They also include traditional Chinese characters in one corner which are easily interpreted as Qianlong Reign ... moreMarks. Some folks thought these might be paperweights because of their rather large size. Compared to most seals of either bronze or jade. An antique Qing Dynasty engraved brass Opium pipe. 10.5" tall. Condition is good. And only showing the usual minor signs of age, use and wear. Possibly originally with a silver finish. The seam, on the pipe stem where it curves, has slightly opened up underneath. Weight of 360 grams. Pipe appears complete(please see all photographs) with the exception of the chain(missing) Overall nicely engraved in detail. One side has an engraved scene displaying plants in flower, containers and a low table. The other side engraved with a bird in flight and a tree panda. Both rounded ends also engraved, and top and bottom borders with a bamboo and flower pattern. The small pipes, set in the middle body, at their top have the shape of miniature three-footed censers. Emperer Guangxu was the seventh emperor of the Qing Dynasty from 1871-1908. This is a beautiful Ginger Jar done in cobalt blue with reverse Cherry Blossom images. The top is a loo se fit(2.5" opening on the jar and 3" diameter opening on the top) and a little different coloration but the pattern is the same. I am not sure if this is the original pairing.
