This really cute piece is in great condition. And you don't see very many of them around. Light sea foam green/mint in color. My camera doesn't do the beautiful coloring and detail justice. This is not necessarily considered a defect but it worth noting for those that are bothered by this aspect of glazing. It generally costs 25.60 Euros(about $35) to send one volume. But if a number are combined, and the weight stays below two kilos, then the price remains the same. PostNL charges 35.60 Euros(about $45) for weights between 2 and 5 kg, so that if more are purchased, the price of sending per item goes down considerably. A fine example of old Chinese polychrome decoration on a shallow floral pottery dish from the late Ching Dynasty. Around or before 1900. Graceful lobed shape stands on a raised foot and is decorated on the underside with stylized bats and peaches. In Chinese iconography, peaches were a symbol of immortality and bats symbolized long life and prosperity, so this was an auspicious as well as a very decorative object. Measures 8 1/2 X 6 X 2 inches. Small surface irregularities are shown in the pictures. The defects on the bottom are the result of the firing process and are commonly found on this type of Chinese ceramics. 19th C. Rare Turqoise Color Ceramic Chinese Crab Bowl (Stoneware)
This unusual Chinese ceramic crab is a marvelous work of craftsmanship that honors the ocean. It is stoneware and is possibly native Chinese. The crustacean sits in its standard position with bug like eyes starting ahead. His massive claws look ready to pinch. The detail is incredible. Even the flat bottom. Where the glaze was not applied is ribbed. The rich color of the glaze(a turqoise with greenish accents) matches the sea to which it pays homage. Each leg and every node, in turn, imitates the beauty of the actual creatures. It immediately draws the eye when one enters the room. The inside is a delicate contrast to such a striking hue- with an earthy grey color in the interior. This piece would make a fine addition to any seaside home or to any nautically themed collection. This rare and unique piece is a coin bank in the form of a drum. It has a very austere appearance with only the upper portion lightly glazed with a brown pigment. The upper portion is decorated around with lotus petals and Greek key in low relief. The top is decorated with Greek key. Peonies and 2 men facing each other with Chinese characters inscribed above their heads. This item was probably made in the era of the New Republic. The object measures 5 1/2" high and 21 1/2" around.

There are raised figures of dragons in a mountain landscape on the back. It is signed on the bottom with character marks. It is a brownish clay with a darker brown and gold paint covering. I believe it dates from the late 1800's. I don't know who the maker is. ANTIQUE 19th CENTURY CHINESE CERAMIC GAMBLING TOKEN #10
Up for auction is a 19th century ceramic gambling token from Bangkok. Thailand. Gambling tokens become common currency from the early 19th century until 1870. The Chinese gambling houses in the Thai capital, Bangkok, produced ceramic tokens for use as counters. During the same period there was a shortage of silver metal for coins, and cowrie shells(a traditional form of money) were losing their value as currency. As a result the ceramic gambling tokens began to be used as everyday small change within the city. The onus of redeeming the tokens rested with gambling houses, who tried to pre-empt forgeries by frequently changing the design of the tokens. This round token is approximately 22mm in diameter. The piece is very old and signed with an impressed Chinese mark on the bottom. Use your own expertise on the age. As you can see the piece depicts a fish in waves of the sea.
