This auction is for a large. Sterling silver carving knife found in storage. The blade is sharp and appears new; but, the item was not stored well and has a few scratches. There is a 1/4" scratch on the handle. I have polished the handle lightly and have not polished off all the tarnish, it will need further polishing to get it back to its beautiful self. The knife is 13 1/2" long. The sterling marking is on the handle. The knife weighs 4 7/8 ounces. You are buying AS IS.

All of the handles are marked"Sterling" The Fork and Knife are both marked"Stainless" but the Sharpener is not and does have some rust. The Fork measures approximately 10 1/2" long. The Knife is 13 1/8" and the Sharpener is 12 1/2" They are in pretty good shape, but there are some dents and scratches and a couple of seam separations. This knife is almost 12" long! The handle is marked on both sides Crown Sterling. Has a draped curtain looking pattern, not sure of name. The blade of the knife is marked Lifetime Rippledge, Stainless U.S.A. but it is rather dull, and there are a few nicks on the top of the blade(not the serrated edge) that look like black marks, probably from other knives, and a couple of scratches on one side of the blade. This carving set includes a knife that measures approximately 9 3/4" long, and a fork 8 1/2" The handles on both pieces are marked"STERLING" These are old. Up for bid is a very rare hollow handle coin silver roast carving set in what is often identified as the LOUIS XIV pattern by John Polhamus. It was actually patented by John C. Moore. And was produced by other makers. The knife is 13 1/8" long and the fork is 11 1/8" The handles are 5 1/4" long and are identical to LOUIS XIV, save for the repeated section near the joints, likely required to fit the blades securely. The blades are carbon steel, now buffed to a polish. The pieces are monogrammed"Curtis" on the handles. The knife blade is marked"PRATT, ROPES& Co. AMERICAN CUTLERY" The handles are unmarked. Antique Gorham Sterling Handled Carving Fork, Chantilly pattern, 8 3/4”
Recently acquired from a local estate is this antique sterling handled carving fork by Gorham in the Chantilly pattern. Which was introduced about 1895. The fork is approximately 8 3/4” long. There is a wonderful original engraved script monogram on the back of the handle(see photo) The handle is marked with the incised lion, anchor, G which was used by Gorham for sterling silver(please see my photo) I do not see the word STERLING on the handle, but the handle is definitely sterling silver and this piece is quite old. The tines are NOT stainless as you would find in newer version, but I believe they are steeel(and they are attracted to a magnet) Condition is generally very good. The handle is in very good condition with just some light scratches from normal use. The tines do show some nicks and some minor black marks. But generally are very ... moregood.
