Thank you for viewing our items Here's up for auction a collection of 5 very beautiful old chinese 19th century unique faux ivory carved/pierced cow bone fans In a good condition for them age obviously there some signs of wear. Ageing, some small damage or missing couple inner or side sticks, strings- worn off we would recommend to change substitute or upgrade strings where possible The dimension of each one of them is pretty much the same length about 19cm. Antique 19th C Chinese Brise Cow Bone Fan Cantonese c 1890 Intricate Design Antique c1890 Cantonese Chinese Brise Hand Fan. Offered for sale with no reserve! Here we have a very attractive and collectable fan made in China. Probably Canton, and dating from around 1890. It has an intricate, symmetrical design with pierced fretwork carving. The sticks are 10 1/2 inches long and when fully extended, the fan is 16 1/2 inches wide. This is a stunning example of an antique oriental cow bone fan and in very good condition with just one very short crack at the top edge of one of the sticks. RARE CHINESE EXPORT INTRICATELY CARVED AND PIERCED A STUNNING OX BONE BRISE FAN. THE FAN IS IN PERFECT NOT DAMAGED OR REPAIRED CONDITION. IT BELONGED TO MY LATE GRANDMOTHER AND SHE NEVER EVEN USED IT AS IT WAS ALWAYS KEPT IN A LOCKED GLAZED CHINA CABINET ON DISPLAY ON THE TOP SHELF. THE FAN IS VERY GOOD QUALITY AND THE FAN HAS TWO SILK TASSLES HANGING FROM THE U SHAPE METAL PIECE THAT HANGS DOWN FORM THE FAN. WHEN IT IS CLOSED IT IS 8.3 INCHES LONG AND WHEN THE FAN IS OPEN IT IS 14 INCHES WIDE. THE FAN IS IN GOOD CRISP CONDITION AS YOU CAN SEE WELL IN THE PICTURES OF IT THAT WILL ENLARGE. A most beautiful Chinese carved ox bone or similar brise fan. Dating from c1850. Wonderful antique fan with stunning carved detail it measures 16.8cms long- there are 27 individual carved sticks- with the two outer guard sticks being thicker- held together with two beautiful white stones. In very nice original condition- with small areas of loss- but overall in nice condition as pictured- it needs its silk ribbon replacing. No reserve

Dimensions: 325mm wide/ 235mm long when closed. Signiture: Unsigned. Condition: Very poor. Both end guards have been broken off and are missing. They have been pinned to the next stick along and one of these sticks has been broken and is missing the mid section. One stick has damage to its top corner(see photos) The fan will need a new silk thread. There is also some very minor damage to some of the central sticks but these are overall in good condition. Notes: Despite the damage this is a fantastic 19th century Chinese brise fan depicting figures. Boats, trees and buildings. The quality of carving is superb. Description Wonderful antique late 19th century Chinese brise fan. Which has been produced from delightful heavily carved sandalwood. The fan was made in Canton(China) circa 1890, and was produced for export to the west. Both the front and back guards have produced from sandalwood. Heavily carved with decoration featuring bamboo, with the sticks carved and pierced to match the guards. The fan has been mounted with fine cream fabric leaf. Which has been delightfully embroidered with flowers and butterflies. The fan is held together with a simple brass coloured pin and mother of pearl rivet. The fan also comes with original black lacquered storage box. With gilt decoration featuring people to the top, and has delightful painted silk lined fitted interior. Antique 19thC Chinese Canton Export Brise Fan Hand Carved & Pierced Cow Bone
This is an absolutely gorgeous antique 19th century Chinese brise fan It is a Canton export deeply hand carved and pierced cow bone or most definately better. The ribbon is original and there are three tiny slivers missing in the piercing of the staves but other than that this fan is in excellent condition. The rivets have mother of pearl buttons. A superbly crafted piece of history. Please study the photos! A small brise fan that is definately collectible! Circa 1830 to 1880 If you have any questions please ask! This is an absolutely gorgeous antique early 19th century Chinese brise fan It is a Canton export unusually hand painted and pierced cow bone Each stave is hand painted in gouache with flowers. Fruit, birds& butterflies. There is some chipping as can be observed in the photos. The fan needs to be remounted, the guardsticks are beautifully detailed with marcasite but may not be the originals. The rivet is intact and the loop is made of silver. The ribbon needs to be replaced but other than that this fan is in good but time worn condition. A superbly crafted piece of history. Please study the photos!
