This is a lot of sterling silver jewelry that includes a pair of earrings that I believe are Taxco as they are marked 980(which is a Taxco silver mark higher than 925) There is also a bracelet that is marked 925. Mexico and TV- and a ring that is also marked 925 with an oval stone that is purple in color that could be amethyst or glass, I'm not sure. It is approximately a size 7 1/2. The earrings have no markings and the original backs are missing and have been replaced with rubber push on backs. The topaz measure 6x4(50 carats each) with a tiny diamond chip at the top. All of the pieces are comprised of inlaid gemstones and the necklace and bracelet have gemstone tube beads as well. The stones used are lapis, turquoise, coral, malachite, spiney oyster, sugilite, lapis, onyx and mother of pearl, in the ring only) The necklace is made up of 10 strands of silver tube beads with rows of lapis. Coral, malachite, spiney oyster and turquoise tube beads throughout. The centerpiece is 3 inches long including the fringe by 1 1/4 inches wide and has a beautiful, decorative design with a bezel set oval of inlaid gemstones. Nice lot of Vintage Siam Sterling. There is 1 bracelet that measures 9" long x 1/2" wide. 2 rings that are adjustable in size. And a pair of screw back earrings. Each piece is signed Siam Sterling. All are in great condition. History: These silver and black Thai pieces were popular in the 1950s through'70s. And were produced by a variety of jewelry shops. It is technically"Niello" or"Nielloware" created by carving out areas of the silver, and baking a sulfur/metals powder in the carved out areas. The design often displays Mekkala, the Goddess of Lightning, and represents the Thai version(The Ramakien) of the Buddhist and Hindu Indian legend, Ramayama, about a prince, his wife, his parents(King and Queen of Siam) and the evil king of Ceylon. This jewelry was often sent to American wives/girlfriends from their ... moresoldier-husbands/boyfriends on leave from fighting in Viet Nam, or stationed in Thailand during the Viet Nam war. That came with some very high end Costume jewelry like Eisenberg and more. All of these pieces have no hallmarks, except for the ring. The ring has an insignia that we do not know the company. We felt this was from the 1930s. We were told by"experts" 1910, others 1940s. We do know one other set we have listed from Italy was from 1920- 1930, so this set falls in line with that. This lot is very heavy and we thought these pieces might be a low karat gold. We were told by the jeweler that the ring was a rolled gold filled ring. Even though it is adjustable. It was cut some years back and is now adjustable. We were told to keep it separate because it usually cheapens the rest of the lot, but we know ... morethe experienced eye will know better. Screwback earrings and ring that was hand wrought in Mexico, circa 1930's, and has early embossed marks of"TAXCO, 980" This set is made of 980 silver which is almost PURE silver and is superior to sterling silver 925. This set is masterfully crafted in a timeless and elegant motif ~ it is exquisitely detailed! The bracelet consists of seven round silver links ~ the bottoms of the links are round, slightly convex silver disks and the top of the disks are heavily oxidized. The centers of the links have silver demi spheres that are framed with a twised silver border.
