Decorated in blue, c. 1800 description: ... moreOn offer is this highly decorative set of five scaloped Chinese porcelain saucers and five cups. Hand decorated under glaze in deep blue on milky white. The saucers show an ornate design of elaborate flower patterns, alternating landscapes, in ten reserves, surrounding a circular flower pattern, within a continuous border. The backs of the plates are decorated with foliage and marked with a single symbol mark within concentric circles. The tea bowls have a near matching decoration. All five bowls are marked with a Kangxi four character mark. They all have a flower decoration on the inside base and floral and landscape patterns on the outside, divided in reserves. There is some variety in the decoration of the items. As visible on the pictures. However, decoration varieties are often found on groups of Chinese export ware. The condition of the items is very good. Three saucers are perfect or near perfect, having some very small rim chips/frittings. One saucer has a rim chip, associated with a very faint and short rim hairline. One saucer has a rim repair(see picture) The bowls all have small frittings/minor rim chips; four have a faint rim hairline, hardly visible with the naked eye. Please view the pictures, which give a good impression of the wonderful quality and the condition of the objects. This group displays very nicely These antique cups and saucers were made in China in the end of the 18th or beginning of the 19th century. C. 1800. Although this type of tea ware was widely produced during the 18th century QianLong period, this could perhaps be dated slightly later. It is difficult to date these objects exactly, because certain popular patterns were produced during a long period, due to permanent demand from Europe. The cream pitcher is made of porcelain and it has a tree shaped handle and a dimpled spout. This is the most Ornate of these 200 year old pitchers that I have seen. The inkwell is 3 ¼” tall including the original liner and cover. The holes in the top of the sander were hand done and the only problem is a small chip to the edge of one corner. The Inkwell is perfect, but the cover has a rim chip and the inkwell liner has a broken rim. Luckily the piece chip was found on the inside and it fits nicely. Along with Chinese Writing in Black Enamel Kaishu Script on its Reverse Side. Being Export Porcelain, the Melon Jar is not signed and it doesn’t have any identifying marks other than the Writing on its Side; but we are quite certain it was made during the Late Guangxu or Xuantong Period, circa 1900-1912. The Jar stands 9 inches high to the Top of the Finial on its Lid and it measures 9¼ inches in diameter. This is a set of two blue and white Chinese export porcelain tea cups/rice cups/soup cups. Both cups have the same beautiful scene of a large. I believe willow tree, with some mountains in the back round and what might appear to be a small village. Both cups were purchased at a high end antique auction house in central Florida. The condition is very nice. With the exception of a small fleabite chip out of the bottom rim of one of the cups. As shown in pics) I spent hours researching these pieces and could not find an exact match. However. I did find a plate that closely resembled the scene and marking, stating it was a Chinese export roughly dating it around the late 19th century to early 20th century.
