Rare 19th Century Blue and White Canton Chinese Export Syllabub Cup and Lid with extra bonus second lid. This is a fabulous find and to be in such great condition for its Antique age. The footed cup has a twisted strap handle and a wonderful berry finial motif on lid. It has a gorgeous and pleasing motif and Chinese Scenic detail. It has a great glaze and the beauty of the deep blue color is a sight to behold. It has a very slight flake on the edge of the lid hardly noticeable and a small chip and small hairline on the inside rim of cup. All in All it does not detract from it's beauty. The decoration of the larger dish is a slightly lighter shade of blue than the smaller one. Both dishes depict a land-and-seascape with buildings. Trees, boats/ships and an island. The decoration and perspective is very well done. They are similar designs but not identical. The larger dish has a star detail to the border which gives it a quilted effect. Please scroll down to see our photographs. The dishes were made in China in the mid 1800s. The smaller of the two dishes is in great shape. There is a tiny flaw or flake which does not show much as it is against the darkness of a tree. This may have occurred in manufacture. The detail of cobalt blue glaze in this hand painted design is exceptional and there are no chips or cracks. I have not cleaned this piece but the porcelain can be cleaned as it is dirty and stained. The Jar is 8.5" plus 1.5" LID for a total of 10" in height. The double circle and six character marks on the underneath indicates it is an important older piece of Kangxi and of course it is very beautiful! The vessel has all the fine illustrations of Bats. There is only small remnants left of the red wax seal at the bottom of the bottle. The bottle has crazing in several spots. The glaze has discolored in some areas as well. Unfortunately this piece is in the as is condition as found, this lovely antique Chinese Export Canton water pitcher has had the handle broken off and has been professionally glued back on. This pitcher has a beautiful shape and coloring and is of the old canton pieces if were in perfect condition would be five times or more than what I've listed it for. It is 7 1/2 inches high, 9 inches long from handle to spout, 7 inches wide and other than the handle, it is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. It still is a thing of beauty. Chinese Blue -White Blue. Marked Porcelain Antique Pillow. No Damage.
Thank you for looking. This is a very fine Unique Blue and White Chinese Pillow which has a Mark on the side which I wish I could read. This is a very fine piece with No Cracks or damages at all. This has been painted in a Blue and White Chinese Trees. Hill, Bridge as shown in the photos. This is 7 to 7 1/2 across the top squares top center and at 5 inches wide The square are tied with rope to hang them. Also is 9 inches wide across the lower top going down to 8 and is 5 inches wide at the top side and 3 wide at the center and 4 inches wide across the lower feet and 6 1/2 across the lower base. Both feet have a round hole in them and there are a few tiny round pads to protect them. Other than normal Old age ware there are NO Cracks, Chips, or Repairs at all. This is almost 3 pounds. I will not accept a return on this wonderful piece as I ... moredo not want to chance any damage to it as there are none. I always pack with added bubbles and It comes from a None Smoking Home.
