Chinese Antique Table Screen Panel - Mother of Pearl Inlay - Fine - 19th Century
This is the central panel from a fine 19th century Chinese table screen. It no longer has the frame. It is finely inlaid with mother of pearl decorated with bats etc flying around a tree on a dark hardwood back. like rosewood or similar. There is a fair bit of the mother of pearl inlaid missing so it is sold as seen with no returns. Most the bits missing are on the tree section. Antique 19th Cent Chinese / Japanese Theater Puppet Doll Mounted in Acrylic Case
This is a nice antique 19th century Chinese or Japanese theater puppet/ doll mounted in an acrylic case. In pretty nice shape as the pics show with silk embroidered clothing with dragon decoration on the front and the back has some type of fish decoration that I believe are depicting koi. It does have some wear like that shown with losses to the decoration that was on the face and the feet have imperfections as well. The head also is removable and has a hole in the head on the top. I'm not sure exactly how it was mounted but believe the little piece in the back holds ot on there. The left shoulder area of the clothes doesn't lay flat anymore and although not pictured the acrylic case has minor wear/ scratches the worst of which are on the base and it comes exactly as shown. An antique Qing Dynasty engraved brass Opium pipe. 10.5" tall. Condition is good. And only showing the usual minor signs of age, use and wear. Possibly originally with a silver finish. The seam, on the pipe stem where it curves, has slightly opened up underneath. Weight of 360 grams. Pipe appears complete(please see all photographs) with the exception of the chain(missing) Overall nicely engraved in detail. One side has an engraved scene displaying plants in flower, containers and a low table. The other side engraved with a bird in flight and a tree panda. Both rounded ends also engraved, and top and bottom borders with a bamboo and flower pattern. The small pipes, set in the middle body, at their top have the shape of miniature three-footed censers. The set is in it's original fitted painted gilt& lacquer wood box and is complete. The set has a round central dish surrounded by 8 fan shaped dishes decorated in pink, green and blue Canton enamel. The central dish has a flower roundel with a background of scrolling foliage. The fan shaped dishes are decorated with scrolling foliage. The outer box is wood and lacquer with a hand painted scene of seated Chinese figures on the lid. Size: The central dish measures 17 cm. 6 3/4" wide. The total set of dishes measures 35.5 cm. 14" wide. The outer wood box measures 38.5 cm. 15 1/4" wide x 9 cm. 3 1/2" tall. Age: 19th century Condition: The set is in very ... moregood condition. Antique Chinese Red Gold Wood Carving Relief Panel Qing (Ching) 19th Century
We are pleased to offer for your consideration extremely RARE fine Antique Chinese Protuberant Relief Wood Carving Panel/ Wall Hanging in Red and Gold features highly detailed carved genre scene with courting couple inside of nice vase- shaped protuberant relief medallion surrounded with traditional Chinese carved red wood ornament. The bottom inside of relief vase- shaped medallion has very unusual finish very similar to tinniest points/pieces of any kind of sparkling glass what gives effect of small stones on a real ground. The carving is mounted into rectangular wood frame with a RED WAX SEAL on the back and gadget for hanging on the top. Dated most likely back to the Qing( Ching) Period.Early to middle 19th Century. This is a Chinese antique kuei-fei settee made in the early 19th century. It is made from T'an wood/Sandalwood/Black wood& inlaid with Yunnan-Dali marble. A fine antique 19th Century circa CHINESE HAND CARVED LACQUERED WOOD SILK THREAD WINDER. There are Prunus blossoms carved in relief on one side. And Orchid flowers on the other. The lacquer colors are iron-red and dark brown, and I can see touches of gold on the floral stems. The shape of the winder is called"ruyi" Several similar winders can be seen on page 40 of Thread Winders. A Collector's Guide by Diana Pelham Burn, and also on page 244 of Antiques Source Book by Martin Miller. This winder measures 14 cm(5 5/8" long x 7 cm(2 3/4" wide at the widest point x 3 cm(1 1/8" wide at the thinnest point. It is 1 cm thick. There is some surface wear. But it is smoothed with patina from long use. There are no chips, cracks or repairs.
