Item is about 3 12 inches high to the top of the knob and about 4 inches round. Handmade. Hand hammered sterling silver(925) 6-3/4" high ice bucket, circa 1910 to 1930. Still researching the maker, but I believe it is Mexican or South American in origin. The opening at the top is 6-1/2" in diameter and the base is 4-7/8" in diameter. I had this weighed by a jeweler to ensure accuracy and the weight is 16.17 Troy ounces. The bottom is decorated with a line of grapes and leaves. The body of the piece is hand-hammered with a monogram circle with the initials'IO' with a very small"DE" in the center of the two letters, perhaps the initials of the artist?The top has a rolled edge and there are two egg shaped knobs with the handle attached. Antique vintage Enamal / stained glass sterling silver tea bag strainer .925?
There are a few of the colored areas broken out. Handle is pulling away from strainer part. Both can be fixed by someone that knows what they are doing. That being said. Sterling silver enameled or stained glass(I can't tell which) tea strainer. Handle and entire rim has enameled floral. Leaves, and designs. Enameled colors include reds, greens, blues, turquoise. This is a very nice piece. It does need to be cleaned as I am not going to simply because I don't know how and don't want to damage the item. All the enamaled or stained glass areas are in tack. Item Description: You are bidding on a vintage sterling silver dragonfly brooch probably originating from the Taxco region of Mexico. Offered in this auction is an antique sterling silver tea set made by Codan S.A. of Mexico circa 1945. Codan was one of the most highly regarded silversmith houses in Mexico City in the mid 20th Century. Codan was especially known for creating some of the finest silver pieces at the time and did so in the Scandinavian tradition and style. Usually inspired and guided by legendary Danish silversmith Georg Jensen and other artists. This rare tea set was no exception. Because Codan ceased production in the late 1940’s. Complete sets like this one are incredibly difficult to find and are usually available only on very high-end auction venues like Christie’s and Bonham. Art Nouveau Style Sterling/925 Fine Silver Scissors/Shears in Working Condition
Up for sale is a pair of functional marked sterling-TANGS ONLY-scissors. The two blades were made out of stainless steel. The two tangs have ornate floral designs with an Art Nouveau look. It has an overall length about four inches(from one end to another) And approximately two inches across the tangs when opened. Condition Report: The blades need to be sharpened a little in order to put it into better use. But it cut fairly well now. No damages, just sign of normal wear with minor toning. I noticed that one tip of the tangs is about 1mm shorted than the other. There is a flea bit at the front where the tangs and the blades are connected, but nothing serious. The vintage.925 sterling silver baby rattle is marked on the inside ring as follows: 925- T C( I believe the"T" is for Taxco and the"C" is the initial of the maker) 299 Mexico. Beautiful condition. It measures 2.5 inches long. The open ring has a diameter of approximately 1.5 inches. The circumference of the ball is about 3.25 inches around. It was tarnished, so I polished it with a high quality silver polish.
