Vintage silver cross medallion on silver cross chain, accented with purple stone
To describe this cross medallion I can only say it reminds me of the Medieval days. I did take it to a jeweler and he tested the medal for sterling. Please check out the back of the cross medallion. I have never seen anything like it. The clasp on the chain was broken when I bought it, so while at the jewelers, I had him put a new sterling clasp on it. the medallion is 1 3/4' in diameter. The front looks like a Maltese cross. On the back there are scenes of the Resurrection. The Nativity, and what appear to be two churches, possibly the Holy Sepulchre Church and the Church of Bethlehem. From my research I think this is pre-WWII.
