Charming Little Cut Crystal, Sterling Silver & Enamel Box
A wonderful small box or jar. Really looking like a smaller example of a large powder jar in this form dating to the same era. I doubt that this would have been used for body powder, it is just too small, it is the most charming and unusual little jar. The crystal is beautifully cut, very tactile to cut and pristine. The top is made from English sterling silver and topped with a stunning pastel green guilloche enamel showcasing the engine turned decoration below. The green in person is much more of a pastel green, the photograph shows it looking more like a turquoise green. The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1930. Charming Bliss Brothers sterling silver porcelain heart bracelet. Has the B Co within the B mark. Measures approximately 7-1/4" long. Has 11 porcelain hearts. I do not believe it is guillache enamel. It appears to be a thin coating of porcelain on top of each heart disc. I believe the hearts are hand painted as you can see slight differences in them. Gold washed silver. Marked sterling on one side of the clasp. I have not attempted to clean. Looks as if there is some gold wash loss looking closely with a loop. There is one repair needed which should be an easy fix at a jewelers. See the last two photos. On the second to last heart the part of the chain? is a little bent and part of the piece attached to the heart has come loose. All items are fully hallmarked for London. Date letter o for 1909 makers are Horace Woodward& Co Ltd. At the base each salt is stamped with the number 8547. Beautiful three leaf clover shaped and they stand on three balled feet. No engraved initials or monograms. CONDITION. Well over 100 years old and they are in good condition with just minor wear. The salt spoons have a tiny dink to the bowls which was done when the hallmarks were stamped. MEASUREMENTS Each open salt measures approx 42mm diameter and stand 25mm in height. Charming Tiffany& Co Gilt Sterling Silver Chrysanthemum Flower in Basket Presented is a charming Tiffany& Co sterling silver flower in a basket. The flowers and their basket all have a rich gold wash. The piece is done as a single stem branching off into six open flowers and two buds. I'm not sure what flower is being depicted. It looks like a chrysanthemum possibly, with the blossoms consisting of many long thin petals. The petals, leaves and stem all have an eye-catching brushed finish, while the basket is textured to emulate woven rattan or other basket material. The piece of cork in which the flower is set is decorated with fine crystals all over its visible surface. This piece is in great overall condition. Two of the leaves look like they might have ... morea bend to them. But it's hard to be sure if that's original or not. The fine texturing of the finish is nice and crisp. The gold wash is in great shape. There are no breaks, and no repairs. The basket is stamped on the underside with sterling. Tiffany& Co, and Mexico. The flower stands about 5 1/4 inches tall.
