Up for auction is violet fiddleback-style chasuble with matching stole. The detail work is quite impressive. I'm not sure of the age or country of origin. Although this vestment is in excellent shape. The orphreys are very nice, and the embroidered cross on the front is meticulously done. Was cleaned recently and hasn't been used since. Could use a good ironing, but aside from that, this set is in excellent shape. A great find for Lent!

I know very little about these tassels. Other than they are very old, and are guaranteed as represented. They are made from hand twisted and wrapped gold wire, which I was told is 9K, but I can't confirm that. The provenance, which has been handed down verbally from generation to generation, is that they are from Ireland, and belonged to an Irish Catholic priest in the 1800's. They were apparently removed from the stoles or robes that he wore after he died, and kept by the family, who immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1900's. The person I got them from was a close friend of that family. I took them to the local Catholic church(St. Williams) and the deacon there said these items were very old, and had not been used by the church in recent history. They are very close in style and fabric to those of the Holy Rood Guild, although these are from"Charis Liturgical Design" located in North Guilford, CT. They are all in the gothic style and with matching stoles. The main vestment has a v-shaped design at the top with gold panel running down the center of front and back, while the concelebrant vestments only have the v-shaped design at the neck with no panel. The stole for the main vestment is the normal style, and the stoles for the concelebrant vestments come to a point at the ends. Both have gold tassels.
