This is a commemorative spoon from the 32nd annual session of the Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of Mystic Shrine(AAONOMS) The AAONOMS is commonly known as Shriners. It is an appendant body to Freemasonry. The bowl of the spoon has an attractive impression of Mount Tacoma with forest. Water, shore, and city in the foreground. This is an extremely rare and quite interesting piece of 1930s Art Deco styled dance ephemera. An original brochure printed for the touring performances of the Ruth Page Ballet, from her Chicago Grand Opera Ballet Company with Bentley Stone, and in this instance presenting the ballet of Mascagni's"Cavalleria Rusticana" at the Shrine Auditorium in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The paper brochure measures approximately 8 1/2" by 12" overall when un-folded to full size. And is printed on both sides with several vignette black and white photo illustrations accompanying the text, with all text and illustrations entirely clear and legible throughout, panels clean and supple as well, and it appears very clean and crisp overall, with no appreciable evidence of handling or wear apart from the usual minor edge and corner wear. Here is an Imperial Japanese 50 Sen note issued for use during World War II. The note depicts a Shinto shrine gate and temple. The flower representing the Japanese Imperial family. The Chrysanthemum, is on the top of the note. There is also a Dove. Symbol of peace flying on the note. Ironic as these notes were issued during a period of war. Vintage Texas Shrine Shriners Letter Opener Arabia Temple Houston W. Glaze 1949
Vintage 1949" Texas Shrine Association Ceremonial" letter opener. Arabia Temple(Houston) Willard W. Glaze. Potentate, 1949. Length is about six inches-width about 1 1/2" The blade has quite a point on it and appears to be solid brass-a magnet will not stick to it. The handle is wood and fits tightly on the blade. Shriners logo appears near the base of the blade. Nice mid-century letter opener. Especially if you are a Shriner.
