Here's another interesting antique item from the mid to late 1800's. This is a very large leather bound edition of the bible. Often known as a ... morefamily bible at the time. We're not sure when this was published, who the publisher was or what year as it is missing the early pages with that information. We do see reference to the Catholic Bible History. This one has a small group of engraved pages or plates as shown. This makes us think this is from the 1860 to 1880 period as later ones seem to have had color pages in addition to engraving plates. This one is about 10.5 by 12.5 inches in face dimension and about 4 inches thick. It weighs over 10 lbs. Here is a list of the details we noted. 1) The cover overall is very good. 2) There are supposed to be two metal latches for securing the bible closed.one is present and one is missing. 3) The bound pages are unglued from the cover as we show in a picture. 4) We found one page loose from the binding within the bound group. 5) The bible part of this seems to be full and complete. 6) The first group of pages that include the title page through page 50 of the"History of the Catholic Bible" are missing. 7) There are woodcut style page engravings of good number within the pages of the history section. 8) There is a"family" blank page that is blank and there are no family photos on the pages at the back provided for that use. 9) Binding seems to be holding most of the pages well. 10) Slight age darkening to pages. A little spotting at the edges, overall GD+ or better. show marking from wear and handling though is decent. So overall rating is rough. Though nice leather contoured cover. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this old or antique family bible low so enjoy the auction. When packed this will weigh about 12.5 lbs so we'll use USPS Media Mail as the lowest cost postal alternative to the buyer. We have no packing or handling charge. Extra cost USPS postal services like Postal Insu

It looks like there was at leat four coats of paint on this chair before someone tried stripping it and stopped half was through. It is well made and even has some turnings on the back and front legs. It is still in solid condition. One leg does have a crack which I have included a picture of. It measures 20 inches tall and has a `11 inch wide seat.
WE ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS THROUGH PAYPAL DESCRIPTION: Victorian furniture. Nice old rocking chair. It is made of walnut. It has a chipped carved Art Nouveau design on the top(pic#2) It has nicely turned spindles. This dates to the 1890s to early 1900s. It still retains a partial original makers label(pic#5) Unfortunately I cannot make out the maker as not all the label is in place(H.L. Day*ons& Co. Chairs) It is solid. Sturdy and usable. Has typical squeaks when rocking but is solid. Probably restored 10-20 years ago or so. The seat has a re-glued center split(pic#4) No breaks or repairs on the arms, legs or spindles. It looks like at least one of the screws in the back was replaced. I noticed a couple of small age cracks in the upper crest(pic#2) Has some minor dings, scratches, scuffs, etc. as to be expected on a chair over 100 years old. ... morePrefer local pick-up. Might be able to ship Greyhound if I can make size restraints. You would have to pick-up at the Greyhound station. Email for an exact quote BEFORE bidding. It is not really heavy, but it is over-sized. Probably would be able to ship in the $90.00 to $120.00 price range depending on location, but email me to be sure. I really don't know too much about this bag. It is styled in the classic doctors bag fashion. But the cloth insert looks to be like something a women would use. But it may just have been the taste of that doctor. Not sure what is made of. From a tear on the seam of the fabric I can tell it was insulated by a brittle type of thick cardboard. The outside is tough, has some bends, a part of the seem is beginning to seperate from the top metal frame. Has both clasp and is a pretty cool piece, but it does have some wear it accumulated over its years of travel. You can see a small place where the doctor once did a stitch repair, pretty cool. I included a bunch of pictures so please judge on condition for yourself, it is being sold as is so please ask questions and look at all pictures. The bag is not mint it is likely 100 years or older so ... moreit has its flaws like most things its age. Measured across bottom. Approx. 18" long. 9" wide 12 1/2" tall with handle. I ship USPS. Fantastic flea market find! INDUSTRIAL STEAMPUNK vibe. Black leather bag with edge detailing. Brown leather handle. Bottom hinged with 4 metal ball feet. In nice antique condition. There is some wear to the leather handle and a few scuffs but other than that it’s in great shape. Push button latch functions well and the interior is clean. Exterior of case measures 13 1/2” w by 5” deep by 6 1/2” tall Not sure what it was originally used for. Inside has compartment with a silver hook clasp that measures 6 1/2” x 5 1/2” fits 4 x 5 negatives nicely. perhaps a photographer’s accessory bag? The section next to it has cut-outs in the leather that look like it was intended to secure a sharp instrument. Writing utensil or maybe music reeds. The main compartment measures 13” by 5 1/2” There is s small 1/16” hole near the top on each side that looks ... morelike a small rod was once inserted to hold a retractable tray. so perhaps it was a mens travel case. Could be a doctors bag but most of those seem to have 2 handles. hmmm. If anyone recognizes this type of case. I’d love to know it’s original use. So curious. Have looked all over the internet and seen none exactly like it. Makes a great addition to any collection of antique cameras or luggage. The leather is very similar to my old antique Kodak bellows cameras) Great to store things in on a desktop or leave open to display old photos or postcards. Would also make a nice shop display. Please view all photos and ask any questions prior to bidding as all sales are final. Payment is due upon close of auction via PayPal. Please see my other listings if you like Mid-Century or Industrial or vintage items. Gladly will combine shipping. HAPPY BIDDING& GOOD LUCK!

Up for auction is this lot of antique/vintage Victorian Valentine cards from the past. One has a marking of made in Germany. I do not know the date on these. They were found in papers generally dating from the late 1800's to the 1920's. Cardboard satin trimmed(birds with basket of flowers) Little girl with letter(doily/scrap card) Pink cupid(die cut& fold-out) Decorative victorian with lady& paper scraps*Little boy with flower basket/birds(fold-out) Large heart with little girl. The large heart with girl on easel measures just over 10 inches in height and 9.5 across. This cards heart shaped paper overlay(blue flowers) could perhaps be replaced as it is damaged(see photo) The little girl is a separate heavy paper cut-out on top. The little boy fold-out has a disconnect of his tab by his feet(could be glued/taped) but able to ... morestand just as is. The other cards have general age related wear. There are signatures on the backs of some. Really a nice unique lot here at a low price. Please look at photos and ask any questions you may have or if you would like more photos. Oil and Vinegar Condiment Cruet Up for auction a very old antique condiment cruet holder/ oil& Vinegar. Shaker and jam/ mustard jar. This has a silver plate base and hand cut glass. The bottom tray or holder is silver plated. It is stamped E.P(a picture of a pig) GURMAROID REG(some registered mark) 8681. This was my Grandmothers or her mother's and my grandmother is over 100 years old. I believe this is hand cut glass because of the irregularity in the cut shape of the stoppers which are not round or even. The two tallest bottles are around 6" tall and the other two are 5-1/2" and 3-5/8" Width of the bottles are 1-3/4" and the silver stand is 8-1/2" tall. There is a chip on one of the stoppers as shown in the picture. A tiny flea bite is visible in the top of the stopper and there is a small chip on the top ... moreof the hinged bottle. The spoon is solid silver and the best I can make out it reads AS SSB AFGHAN SILVER with a S with a small BS inside it. The spoon may not be original but it has aways been in the set far as I can remember. Make sure you look at the picture carefully because this is the part you will be receiving. All sales are final. Now the great story behind this lovely lamp. We purchased from the Estate of Red Roettis. The aurthor of"L. G. Wright Glass Company" He co-authored with James Measell. He was liquidating his Huge Glass collection. Now this item was purchased by him at the Estate of Molly Brown(Unsinkable Molly Brown. Titanic) At one time I believe in 1932. There was an Auction at her home in Denver Colorado before they turned it into a Museum. Mr. Roettis purchased this and another ... morehanging lamp. We don't have proof of this but was just told this at Mr. Roettis Estate sale when we purchased it and another lamp he bought at Molly Brown's home. We are not ready to let go of both lamps but are willing to part with one. Great piece of history and a Beautiful Lamp. This is something I pulled from(runningthroughthisworld.com) Most of the pieces in the home where purchased by Historic Denver when they bought and refurbished the home. The original furnishing where auctioned off in 1932 when Molly died in New York. There is a bit of Titanic memorabilia in the home. Mostly pictures of the ship and her unfulfilled insurance claim to White Star Lines. Her extravagant trucks apparently held a $700 sealskin coat, 300 dollars of lingerie and a $20,000 necklace.

ANTIQUE NEW ENGLAND FOLK ART PRIMITIVE HAND-MADE& HAND-CARVED WOOD FISHING LONG-BOAT DUGOUT CANOE WITH INLAID CLAY IN RECESSED CARVINGS. This boat was found at a local C onnecticut estate. It is a dug-out(29" long) hand-carved& hand-made folk art canoe or primitive long-boat made of solid wood and with g e ometric carvings of triangles and"V-shapes" which are recessed into wood-these carvings are inlaid with old clay deposits-much of the white clay has fallen out of these old recessed carvings-please see pics. There are also carved shapes along the sides and top of the boat(see pics) Th is folk art canoe has no repairs or restoration and is in its all-original antique condition. Th is boat was found at a local New England estat e and I am uncertain of its origins. The boat is quite beautiful and the condition of the ... morecarved folk art wooden fishing boat is very good with no significan t damage. I can see no significant cracks and there are only s everal small chips-piece is in very good shape and solid condition. Boat is long and measures approx. 29" long x 3/5" tall x 2.25" wide, the center is carved out as a real dug- out canoe would have been. T here are carved out holes placed along the top which I believe has once held oars or paddles to pilot the fishing canoe. These paddles could be hand-made by someone and if and when they were placed in canoe would look lovely and complete the folk art work of art which is quite primitive and beautiful. I have applied a light coat of natural oil to'feed' and protect the wood. A wonderful piece of antique primitive carved wood rustic folk art. smoke/pet free home. Thank you. Shipping note for Alaska and Hawaii-please ask for shipping cost quote prior to bidding as cost would vary outside the lower 48 states.
This auction is for a sweet little Victorian era sailor's shell valentine! The shells are mounted on a piece of heavy weight. Diamond shape cardboard that is trimmed in a decorative paper. The piece measures 4" x 6" and is decked out in a variety of pretty and some very different shells. I wish I could identify these beauties! The shells around the edge have the most wonderful greenish/pink opalescence. Which shows up in photo 4 and photo 7! I've taken close up photos of the unusual shells with the triangular polka dot designs! I've never seen anything like them! The large shell in the middle also has a lovely opalescence. There are some other little bits sprinkled in amongst the shells; such as some green and red"seeds" and perhaps a little piece of fossil. Issues: This piece is quite sound. The remaining ... moreshells are securely attached. Unfortunately. It isn't in perfect condition. I count four places that look like there are shells missing. I also count two shells along the edge that are missing a significant piece. It is a little dusty; but not bad. I wish the piece was signed! Overall. It is in remarkable condition; considering its' fragile nature! This item does not smell of smoke. Mildew, must, mothballs or have pet odor. If you have any questions or concerns; please feel free to contact me prior to the end of the auction. Be sure to check my other listings! Thanks for looking!

Marked JOSEPH KINZINGER and the date 1836(the year the Alamo fell) with fantastic natural dark honey aged patina. I have shown this piece to a couple of experts in this specialized field, and the consensus is that the horn is carved in an 18th century style, and that the name and date were recorded later; probably a presentation or commemorative occasion such as a hand me down from a father to his son. It is also possible the entire ... morehorn was carved in 1836 in the 18th century style by an"old timer" who was commemorating his travels for his family and posterity. This scrimshawed was accomplished and skilled; this not being his first horn that he decorated. The detail of the scrimshaw is exceptional, and the content extremely interesting. The experts also admired the natural dark honey untouched aged patina; one saying the remarkable color variations are the best he's ever seen. This profuse and finely scrimshawed horn tells a story, with dozens of individual images. It is a foregone conclusion that this scrimshawed was recording his journeys, and was undoubtedly aboard the 3 masted ship portrayed on the horn that took him to the African and Indian continents. The scrimshaw decorations, from top to bottom, clockwise are: Vine& leaf pattern A bird in flight JOSEPH KINZINGER. MUST SEE(6) Antique CFH Charles Field Haviland Limoges Birds Bowls Aesthetic Period c.1870s Meadow Visitors. Click picture to enlarge Example of Mark click picture to enlarge Description SCARE EARLY CFH LIMOGES BOWLS UNUSUAL AND HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE The photos simply do not do justice to these Aesthetic Movement beauties. They are outstanding in every way! The finest quality porcelain. Crisp colors on a white ground, outstanding aesthetic movement design, and in amazing condition. Set of SIX very early Charles Field Haviland 9 1/2" rimmed bowls. Each with a different hand painted design with gold detailing, featuring Japanese influenced birds and floral motifs. Gently scalloped gold gilt borders. Marked on the bases with very early CF Haviland marks. The printed letters CFH in green and the early"lifesaver" mark in blue. That ... morewould places these bowls around the 1870's. Predating the 1881 sale to Gerard, Dufraisseix& Morel(GDM) I am not a Haviland expert. But with the strong Asian influence in style and motif, these seem to be a precursor to"Foins et Papillion" commonly referred to as Meadow Visitors. CONDITION: About as good as you will ever find in porcelain bowls that are over 130 years old. No chips. Cracks or crazing that I can see. Bowl#1: In the center of the bowl. There is just a small area(about 1/4" where there may be just a touch of wear to the surface glaze(almost impossible to see) On one spot in white ground on rim, I can feel a few tiny bumps under the glaze, as made. Some wear in a 5" long area along the gold gilt rim, but only on the side view; looking from the top it is fine. Bowl#2: I suspect that there is wear to the tiny gold detailing on the birds and flowers. Although without seeing how it originally looked, I am not 100% sure. Gold rim is great, with just a very small area in the side view(about 1/2" with a little wear. A few other miniscule irregularities, most likely as made. Bowl#3: Just some minor wear at a few spots along the gold rim. But
