Antique 19th SIlver Filigree Medal Baptism Christening Signed Icon German Rosary
This is a stunning and rare work of art! It is like the antique rosenkranzes I have from Germany. The metal is all filigree. Very fine, very small. It is signed Detler, which is a German surname. I believe the filigree is bronze(the support metal) and silver(the fine intricate details) and the center is bronze. It shows a mother holding her child over the church holy font to be baptized. The priest is baptizing the child, while one altar boy kneels with a holy candle, and another holds the Bible. A woman is standing behind the mother holding a cloth in which to take the child in. It is just incredibly beautiful and rare. I have not seen one this large in all my years in Catholic antiques. The entire icon is a diameter of 4 3/8" and the inside is 2" in diameter. Features: This is a very nice approx antique to older vintage(art deco era 1920 to 1930's) heavy Catholic Rosary necklace. ALL metals made of sterling silver with 59 Rosary bead faceted quartz stones. 59 is often the number of a Catholic Rosary) Stones are briolette cut Austrian Rhine River quartz stones(a more valuable type of rhinestone. Due to they orignated from the Rhine Silver) testing via refractometer within the higher quartz stone index. Stones are of very good quality. Stones total approx 144 cts at approx 2.45 cts per stone. Has. very impressive PRE-1940's smith workmanship in an eye catching earlier art deco pattern. Having nice hand laced filigree work and nice hand chased elongated links. Cross pendant portion has beautiful raised detail of Jesus with heart motif. Center portion has very nice raised detail of Madonna(Virgin Mary) with back having nice raised detail of Jesus Sacred Heart. It's super heavy and among heaviest I weighed in a sterling Rosary. Weighs 70.5 grams. It was very well kept and in excellent condition. Measurements: Fitting length is about 39 1/2 inches(having inner circumference from upper center piece of approx 39.5 inches) From center piece to bottom of cross is 8.7 inches. Cross portion is about 2 1/3 inches tall

This listing is for a lovely and fine. Vintage/ antique(c.1900) hand carved wood rosary for hanging on a wall. Oversized wooden beads and spacers are decoratively carved from some type of wood. Beads are linked by a metal chain. Heart-shaped brass center is puffy with the following embossed inscription in French: Souvenir du Pelegrinage de N.D. de Lourdes/ Je suis l'immaculee conception. Crucifix is wood, covered by a silver plated metal. Corpus is cast from bronze. Size of crucifix is 3.5" long x 1.75" wide(includes bale) Heart-shaped center medal measures 1.75" wide x 2" tall. This rosary has 58 hand-carved wooden beads and approximately 120 extra wood bead spacers. Bead size is 0.8" in diameter. Total length, including cross is around 63" or 175 cms) long. Beads were hand-carved by the craftsman farmer himself during the long winters. For auction here is an extremely unusual example of the Servite or"seven sorrows" rosary! The medals feature the hallmark of the engraver Vachette– the same Parisian engraver who is responsible for designing and engraving the original Miraculous Medal in 1832! You can Google"Adrien Vachette" to learn more about this gifted engraver. The matching set of Alpaca or"German silver" medals is in excellent condition. The scenes are extremely clear and crisp. Vintage Antique Genuine Civelli Ivorine Beaded Catholic Rosary Cross
Today we have to offer a Beautiful Vintage Genuine Civelli Ivorine Beaded Catholic Rosary. Date unknown. 1940's( Rosary was designed by Cesare Civelli of Rome. Back of crucifix states Pat C. Civelli. The spectacular beads depict in words and pictures the litanies of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary. Rosary measures approx. 24" in length. Is complete with all 59 beads. Each bead measures approx. 10mm, the crucifix measures 1 3/4" long. The Triad has a dove with spread wings on the front and the back says Anno Santo MCMI. This Rosary is made from what appears to be molded ivorine. Latin inscriptions on each oval bead represents invocations of the Litanies with symbolic portrayals on the reverse. The 5 beads on the drop look to depict the(1) four Basilicas and Holy Door. 2,3,4) the 15 joyful, sorrowful ... moreand glorious mysteries, 5) the Holy Father and the Four Evangelists. All beads are in tact. There is fading due to age on the beads and some are more difficult to make out. Please take a good look at the pictures as they also serve as part of the description.
