A beautiful 23” antique rosary with oval faux pearl beads that exhibit a warm golden patina. It has brass chain and filigree links on either side of the pater beads. The center medal is heart shaped with a raised Mary on one side and an intertwined'A' and'M' on the back for Ave Maria. All beads are present. This is a great late 1800’s to early 1900’s rosary that would be a wonderful addition to your collection. I have taken lots of pictures for you to look at.

ANTIQUE 1800’S BLACK WOOD ROSARY WITH 14 STAR UPSIDE DOWN ‘MJ’ CENTER MEDAL
This wonderfully old rosary has the rare early medal that had fourteen stars rather than the common 12 star Miraculous Medal. The fourteen stars depicted the Stations of the Cross. It is a thin steel medal from the 1800’s. A great antique rosary! It is 23” long. The crucifix is an early style one with metal wrapped ebony or black dyed leather. The thin steel center medal depicts Mary on one side and Jesus on the other. It also is of an early style. The rosary appears to date back to the early 1900’s. The oval black beads are some kind of composite material. They could be Gutta Percha or Bakelite which would both be consistent with the rosary’s age. They are not wood or glass. This is a sturdy rosary in great shape. All beads are present. I have taken lots of pictures for you to look at.

It can be difficult to date rosaries but there are some definite indicators of age which are present in this rosary. Up for auction is a antique sterling silver Catholic rosary case. With the design by M. Jampolksy. The top of the case depicts Mother Mary and baby Jesus with the inscription of“Mater Dei Ora Pro Nobis” This is a beautiful piece and is hallmarked. The hallmark is very very small and hard to make out but I will do my best(had to use a jeweler loop and it was still hard to fully make out) The hall mark is a square, the top says Metal and the second word below it starts with what I belive is a G. Then below that are three symbols, the first looks like a stick figure deer followed by an upside down bell and then the letter“C” with an apostrophe. So it doesn’t say its sterling silver. But I believe it is based on how it feels, weight and looks. It measures 1 3/8” in diameter and 1” tall. It has a gold shine to the inside. Some really interesting pieces and this lot includes the following: A beautiful sterling silver pendant/medallion depicting Mary. It measures 1 1/8 height x 1/2 wide and weighs.3oz. On the back it is marked"925" 8 MC" which means it was made between 1944-1968 in the province of Macerata. It is also marked"Italy" Sterling" and is signed on the bottom. I can't read the artist's name. But is evident it is signed. The detail and hand grave etching in this piece is very impressive A blue crystal rosary that measures 21” long. Cross to Pendant is 6 ½” inches and necklace part is 14 ½” inches. ... moreIt is marked with a“M” with the cross above it. Cut glass rosary. But missing the cross. It measures 14” inches long and it is marked medugorje on the bottom Cut glass bead. Multi color sparkle. It measures 17 ¼” long, cross to pendant is 6” and above the pedant is 11 ¼” inches. It is marked Italy and looks sterling but can’t be sure. Blue square cut class rosary. But missing the cross. It measures 19” and on the back of Mary it is marked with the“M’ with the cross above it. It has 1830 marked on it. But its not of that time age. A cut glass pendant necklace. It is marked Italy and measures 11 ½” long, the back of pendant has a monk with a halo hugging a baby Unique red cut glass rosary. It measures 23 ¾ long and is marked Italy, cross to pendant is 8 ¾ and above pendant is 15” inches long. It has the“M’ with the cross above it as well. It is lined with the references. A cut glass rosary the bottom is disconnected from the necklace but an easy fix. It measures 22 ½” long. Cross to pendant is 7” and above pendant is 16” inches. this is a stunning antique cut crystal. Wood, and brass rosary/ prayer beads. the crucifix is very rare and made of inlaid ebony wood with a thick brass crucifix. Jesus, and inri scroll. it has a screw on the bottom that locks the box and it opens on a hinge exposing the relic inside. it is very rare and marked France on the back. the pendant in the middle of the beads is double sided. Silver toned, and also very detailed, one side has a dimensional depiction of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus, and the other side is an ornate bust of Jesus. the beads are cut from clear crystal and have unique shapes with many intricate cuts. measures 2 feet long. in great shape. This ancient church houses the famous St. Dominic Orange Tree said to have been planted by St. Dominic himself(making the orange tree around 800 years old! The reliquary crucifix is crafted out of silver metal with ebony wood inlay on the front. It has a hinged opening that is secured closed by a by a screw knob on the bottom. The back of the crucifix is engraved with" Domenicani Sabina Roma" The interior of the crucifix has two tiny wood relics and an old scroll that reads"Lignum Arboris S. P. Dominici" which translates from Latin to"The wood from the tree of(our) Holy Father Dominic" The rosary beads are smooth. Spina Christi beads, presented in five decades. Its size is 1.25 inches. And it weighs 9 grams. It is one of a handful of pilgrimage site medals, all from the private estate collection of Bertha, the founder of Church-Woman Antique. The story of the 1531 Guadalupe apparition of the Virgin Mother Mary is one of the most fascinating in all of Catholic lore. According to accounts. A poor Indian by the name of Juan Diego came across a vision of what he described as a'lady from heaven' while on a mountainside in Northwest Mexico City.
