Set of Two Vintage Sterling Silver Mexican Pill Boxes Hallmarked 925
Both boxes are oval with large cabochon stones. The white box is approx. 1 1/4" x 7/8" and 1/2" high not including the stone. The green box is approx. 1 1/4" x 7/8" and 7/16" high not including the stone. The total weight is 21 grams. They are both from Taxco. The white box is in excellent condition it is stamped Sterling FAD with an eagle 3. The green box is much older and has some dimpling on the bottom and has one pin size ding on the top side it is very small. This box is also stamped Sterling. Both boxes shut evenly. On the inside of the lid are the hallmarks I T for maker, lion passant for silver and the duty mark, on the inside of the box are the hallmarks anchor for Birmingham, makers mark I T and the letter V for 1819, considering it has survived nearly two hundred years and is a lovely delicate box it is in nice condition there is a small split at the front as shown in photo's, the lid closes tight and the hinge is all good. For auction here is a small Sterling Silver snuff box or pill box complete with finger ring and chains. Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1918. It is approximately 42mm in diameter and has a hinged lid, there is an engine turned pattern to the front and the back and a blank cartouche on the lid. Condition is not bad for its age but with signs of use while there are no splits or bad dents there are some noticeable little dings and surface blemishes and the lid does not close completely flush with the body, the inside is clean and has a gilt finish. Vintage hallmarked Sterling Silver Pill or Trinket Box This beautiful Pill Box has fluted decoration to the lid and the interior is lightly gilded. The bas is hallmarked for London 1994 with the maker’s mark‘AN’ and there is a further‘925’ mark to the outer edge of the lid. It is presented in a blue velvet covered case with white silk lining to the lid and blue velvet to the base– I’m not sure if this is original to this piece. The pill box is in lovely conditions and looks as if it has rarely. If ever been used. There are no dents, dints or noticeable scratches that I can find and the hinge works perfectly. Vintage hallmarked Silver Pill Box This beautiful little pill box is made from sterling silver and. To the top, it is impressed with the image of Queen Elizabeth II in commemoration of her Golden Jubilee as Monarch. It is presented in its original purple-coloured box with‘The Queen’s Golden Jubilee’ printed to the inner lining. The base is hallmarked for London 2002 with the maker’s mark‘DP’ This piece is in lovely condition with no dents or dints that I can find. The hinge works perfectly and the box shuts nice and tightly. Although it appears to have never been used, please be aware that there will be tiny surface abrasions caused through handling.
