Magnificent and rare Georgian sterling silver gilt snuff box. Fully hallmarked for London 1825. This is an exceptionally fine quality and absolutely pristine silver gilt snuff box made in the reign of King George IV by Charles Rawlings in London 1825. The box also has a very interesting and historic Jamaican regimental inscription to the inside of the lid. The box itself is rectangular in shape with stunning chased borders and thumbpiece with leaves. Fruits and flowers. The lid. Underside and all four sides of the box have superb engine turned decoration that is in absolutely pristine condition with no scratches or wear. Superb Solid Silver Georgian Snuff Box 1786 - 1821 Makers Mark IS
This is a sweet George III snuff box OR a ladies perfume box. Clearly hallmarked with the Lion showing the standard silver guarantee. The Duty Mark(The Monarch's head) looks like it shows as King George III 1786- 1821. The Anchor is shown as the Assay town of Birmingham. The Makers Mark is shown as IS- This could be James Stamp but may need further investigation. It has a slight dent on one side try and see it in the photos. Otherwise in good condition. About 3.3 cm L x 2.3 cm W x 0.9 cm deep. It has a gilded interior and it has a loop for connection to a chain. It has a detailed lovely patterned outside lids. Which are hinged with a removable inside lid superbly decorated, which may suggest that a swab of perfumed wool may be located inside for ladies. Please see all the photos.

This stunning Snuff Box was Assayed in Birmingham. In 1809 making it 206 years old, the design and decoration is so very rare this wonderful snuff box has been crafted in the form of a Lancet Case but is to small and wider than a Georgian lancet case, it is a wonderful Novelty Snuff Box, the decoration is typical of the Georgian era so very elegant and timeless with its bright cut engraved decoration to both sides with the most delicate dotted and zig zag engraving that creates a shield shape cartouche to both sides that are free from any engravings this is then framed ... morewith more bright cut dotted decoration, to the hinged lid which has a wonderful dome shape you will see delicately engraved foliage, the top has engraved initials J A L, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb. This would have once belonged to a wealthy Georgian Gentleman over 200 years ago when times were so very different, this is such a beautiful and special novelty snuff box, if only it could talk it would have some wonderful stories to tell. Antique English Snuff Box. Joseph Taylor Silversmith of Birmingham. Lovely Georgian period curved shaped box with fine detailed designs on all sides. CONDITION: Shows some light scratches on bottom; there are also some small dents: One tiny dent on top edge and one on the bottom. Some larger dents at 3 corners. Hinge is undamaged and functions perfectly. Lid closes securely with a snap. Gilt finished interior. The interior of lid has remains of two small stickers that were removed after many decades. Pocket-sized box measures 2 ¼” x 1 ¼” Hallmarks are found inside on both the lid interior and bottom interior. Fine quality Textured GEORGIAN SILVER GILT SNUFF BOX, London 1808 Joseph Ash
We are offering for sale a fine looking Georgian silver snuff box by one of the top specialist London box makers. This oblong box has an attractive all over textured finish with an expertly made hinge. The inside retains its original gilding; the outside was also gilt but it now shows with a rather pleasing two tone effect. The rim of the box is discreetly engaved"James Anderson Newastle" presumably the original owner. This is a good sized pocket snuff box in all round great condition.
