Sweet Baby Jesus child hand carved wood painted statue sculpture sacred bleeding heart vintage. This was probably at a church at one time. This is a hand carved wood statue or figure. The painting is hand painted. This is an excellent rendition of Jesus at a young age of around 5 years old. The statue stands at 25 inches by 9 inches wide by 6 inches deep. This is carved of solid wood and weights about 10 pounds. The sculptor spend much time carving the hair. Face, hands and toes. I believe the symbolism is the sacred bleeding heart. He longs for us as the sacrificial lamb for our reconciliation to the Father. The back of his head has a little damage. Please see the pictures.

This beautiful figurine is approximately 11" tall by 2.5" wide at the base. The figurine is light blue and white porcelain with a high-gloss finish. There are no stamps or stickers on this figurine. So I have no idea regarding the age or origin. There does appear to be an imprint in the gloss on the bottom of the base but I cannot tell if it is just the glazing or some type of marking. 3" high statue(Pewter? of the Child Jesus. I don't know how I came about this. But I have had it a long time(over 20 years) I took it today to a shop because I thought it was silver and they told me they think its pewter. I know a magnet does not stick to it. It has a great patina and when rubbed, the silver color does come through. The top of the hat seems to be bent, and the front of the gown a little pushed in and shows wear and age with some scratching. If you need more pics. please ask. I don't have a digital scale but it shows that its almost 3 oz. and shows hollowness from bottom view.

It is hand painted in exceptionally beautiful detail and is marked on the back of the base with"C.S. 130. Legend has it that while St. Anthony was travelling to preach the gospel. He was taken in by a local parishioner. One day, while St. Anthony was deep in prayer, the parishioner who was sheltering St. Anthony was watching him, and the parishioner saw the Christ child appear in St. Anthony's arms. Thus, St. Anthony is often depicted holding the infant Jesus. The book represents St. Anthony's devotion to scholarly pursuits. The stalk of lilies is a symbol of purity. Exceptional MADONNA AND CHILD Hand-Painted Wooden Statue - Similar to ANRI
Unmarked find. Similar to an ANRI design. About 10-1/2 inches tall including the base, by 3-1/2 inches at its widest point. As mentioned, the statue is unmarked(see photo of bottom) although at one time a paper label may have been affixed. Still not an ANRI, though, because the design of the wooden base is not similar to the Italian statue bases. Also, the statue has obviously been glued to the base. One can see the glue- hard to understand such seeming carelessness, when the rest of the work is so meticulous. Incredibly detailed carving on this piece. Particularly the flowing robe and mantle of Our Lady. See also how the Baby clutches at his Mother's fingers, and how His little feet curve inward, one against the other. Endearingly realistic touches. Uncertain as to type of wood used. This is a very lightweight statue. I found one tiny ... morechip on the wood- the gilt appears to be gone- same photo showing an unusual red circle. Almost like a maker's mark. Marked or not.
