Chinese Antique Table Screen Panel - Mother of Pearl Inlay - Fine - 19th Century
This is the central panel from a fine 19th century Chinese table screen. It no longer has the frame. It is finely inlaid with mother of pearl decorated with bats etc flying around a tree on a dark hardwood back. like rosewood or similar. There is a fair bit of the mother of pearl inlaid missing so it is sold as seen with no returns. Most the bits missing are on the tree section. Antique 19th Cent Chinese / Japanese Theater Puppet Doll Mounted in Acrylic Case
This is a nice antique 19th century Chinese or Japanese theater puppet/ doll mounted in an acrylic case. In pretty nice shape as the pics show with silk embroidered clothing with dragon decoration on the front and the back has some type of fish decoration that I believe are depicting koi. It does have some wear like that shown with losses to the decoration that was on the face and the feet have imperfections as well. The head also is removable and has a hole in the head on the top. I'm not sure exactly how it was mounted but believe the little piece in the back holds ot on there. The left shoulder area of the clothes doesn't lay flat anymore and although not pictured the acrylic case has minor wear/ scratches the worst of which are on the base and it comes exactly as shown. The lid is also carved with figures and trees. Signed in the bottom and inside lid see photos. This tea caddy from mid 19th century. It measures 17.5 cm tall and 12 cm diameter. An antique Qing Dynasty engraved brass Opium pipe. 10.5" tall. Condition is good. And only showing the usual minor signs of age, use and wear. Possibly originally with a silver finish. The seam, on the pipe stem where it curves, has slightly opened up underneath. Weight of 360 grams. Pipe appears complete(please see all photographs) with the exception of the chain(missing) Overall nicely engraved in detail. One side has an engraved scene displaying plants in flower, containers and a low table. The other side engraved with a bird in flight and a tree panda. Up for bid is this Antique Chinese Scholars carved and lacquered scroll weight in the form of an archaic dragon. IT is beautifully carved and then lacquered and gilded. It appears to have someting inside weighting it. As it is heavy for its size. Please enlarge the photos to see how incredibly lovely it is. It is approx. 9" x 10" x 1 1/2" This is in good antique condition. Some patina and rubbing of the gilding and a few lacquer flakes, but nothing not considered natural for an item of this age, and it would be a wonderful addition to any collection. We are pleased to offer for your consideration extremely RARE fine Antique Chinese Protuberant Relief Wood Carving Panel/ Wall Hanging in Red and Gold features highly detailed carved genre scene with courting couple inside of nice vase- shaped protuberant relief medallion surrounded with traditional Chinese carved red wood ornament. The bottom inside of relief vase- shaped medallion has very unusual finish very similar to tinniest points/pieces of any kind of sparkling glass what gives effect of small stones on a real ground. The carving is mounted into rectangular wood frame with a RED WAX SEAL on the back and gadget for hanging on the top. Dated most likely back to the Qing( Ching) Period.Early to middle 19th Century. Antique Quin Dynesty vase or jar made into Lamp. 8 sided. 19th Century
This is an original Chinese jar or vase which was made into a Lamp many years ago.This is from the Quin dynesty or late 19th century. It has seperate nylon wrapped cords which is an indication of the old age. The jar is 8 sided and in multi enamel/biscuit colors.Birds and flowers stand out in relief. The sholders and base have Rui decor. The stand is made of decorative brass standing on 5 legs. There is a 4" piece which has been repaired over the years. See 3rd picture. The lamp is 23" tall to the top and vase or jar area is 12" It is apx. 8&1/2" wide. This is in mint condition. It is in good working condition. From a fine estate and lamp was purchased in New York years ago and brought to this area and I purchased it afew months ago at estate auction. It is all original and an outstanding lamp.
