This is a pretty vintage gold metal jeweled crown for an Infant Jesus of Prague statue. It measures about 3 1/4 inches tall. The round opening for the head measures alittle over 1 1/2 inches in diameter. It needs to be bent back into shape but I didn't try for fear I would ruin it. The circle area which sits on the statue's head measures approximately 3 1/2 inches across. From the bottom to the top of the cross measures approximately 5 inches tall. This particular figure looks to be carved of wood. I believe the base is wood with brass overlay. This is the image of the Santo Nino de Cebu. I do not know the age of this but the previous owner said it was in her families as long as she remembers which takes it back to the 1960's however. She believes it had been in the family along with some others of the like, previous to the 1960's era. He stands about 13&1/8" tall and is dressed in a white satin and lace garment that appears to be hand sewn and over that, a lace trimmed robe and mantle that is turquoise on the outside and light green on the inside. The chalk ware is in good condition with a few tiny flakes here and there. A few tiny holes in his garments and some spotting and one side of the turquoise garment is very faded and also faded along the crease in the other side. Label on the bottom reads Sanmyro Japan. Made in Japan and marked 4J3757/P on the bottom. This is from a retired church. These items came from a church in the Worchester, Mass Area. They took very good care of all of their items. This is a used Vintage Chalkware Jesus infant of Prague. The embellished gold crown is increadible. The detail in the metal work is beautiful. It has original royal gown with datailed accents. There is a tag on the bottom that says Columbia Statuary Made in Italy and also impression on the base. There is some paint chipping to face. Hands and a corner off the base under the gown. I mported from Italy and is approx. 25.5" with his crown on and this is the original garment and crown. Dated 1961- His head has scratches on it also his nose is scratched and small chips/scratches on his fingers& globe. When you unfold his lace garment there is a small hole I took a picture of it. Also. You could see where the garment was glued to hold the side down up on the side of his arms and because of age it dried up. As I could see the rest of his garment is great. He has a beautiful face and beautiful powerful blue eye. His Crown is in good condition as you can see. A few scratches on base. Near the globe you will see some little chips and also,there is a jewel on the cross. When repacking. First of all let me explain that I do not know anything about religious items. All I know is from the computer research I have tried to do. With that said I will describe this item to the best of my ability and let the pictures tell the rest. This appears to be a hand carved triptych with the child Jesus. No maker marks. It is quite beautiful and measures about 4 1/2" tall and 1 1/2" at the base. In very good condition with the two doors opening and closing easily and I can not find any chips or breaks. No repairs, a lot of the times the heads have been broken off and glued back on but this one does not have any breaks. Vintage Jesus Infant of Prague Chalkware with Gold Dress Columbia Statuary 1960. Approx 13" in height to top of crown. Approx 3" X 2-3/4" across bottom base. There are some signs of age/use/wear. There is a golden yellow dress that has a chalice IHS and a cross. There are a few areas of discoloration on the satin like material. A few pull marks as well as in the lace around the dress. The statue has a few chips in the crown on the front, side and back. The Infant has a few chips in his hair in the back There is a small chip in the blue globe to the side and near where the cross sits. A small chip in the grass near his feet. Some of these are more like color chips and could easily be touched up with the right color. There are a few chips on the bottom base. All shown in pictures.
