Here is a fine vintage and most special holy card. It has a beautiful prayer that is as appropriate today as it was in 1936. I invite you to enlarge the photo so you can recite it. On the front. There is a lovely scene of Our Lady of Prosperity. Mary is standing in the opening of a cloud filled sky. She is holding the Child Jesus with her left arm. While her right arm is holding a large cornucopia of pink roses. Jesus is holding one of the roses. On the back of the holy card. There is a prayer to Our Lady of Prosperity with a Nihil Obstat and an Imprimatur with the date of March 13, 1936. The detailing on this holy card is exceptional with nice coloring and lots of gold leaf highlighting. There is a gold leaf outline border and title at the bottom of the holy card. Vintage Virgin Mary Weeping Holy Card Lace Border This holy card depicts a weeping Virgin Mary. This simple yet meaningful card is framed by a lace border with rounded corners and pointed edges all around. The border is in good condition. Although tears are present along three of the corners and one more small tear is found near the bottom-left corner. Vintage Holy Card"Sancta Familia" by Mother Margaret Mary Nealis Mother Nealis was a religious of the Society of the Sacred Heart and prolific producer of Christian art. She was professed on July 22. 1903 and moved to Sault-au-Recollet, where she spent most of her religious life. The day-to-day work of the convent took time away from her painting for twenty years but her reputation as an artist slowly emerged until serious commissions increased the amount of work she produced. In 1929, after fire destroyed the main building of the Sault Convent, Mother Nealis was given a new modern studio where she was able to teach and paint. Failing eye sight and poor health hampered her work as she got older. She died in Montreal on December 17, 1957. Vintage 5 pc NATIVITY Christmas statue HOLY CARD set die cut stand ups statuette
Vintage Die Cut Nativity Paper Holy Card Statues There are 5 beautiful figures. These have tabs so that they can stand up. There is Baby Jesus in the Crib. Blessed Mother Mary, St. Joseph, and 2 absolutely beautiful Victorian style adoring Angels. The artwork and colors are just lovely. They are even nicer than I was able to show in the picture. I know these will be enjoyed. The Angels. And Saint Joseph are 5 1/2" tall. Blessed Mother is 4 1/2" tall and Infant Jesus is 2 3/4 tall and 3 1/2" wide. These are in perfect condition! No marks. Bent corners, creases etc. They are still in the original cello envelope. I did not want to bend the tabs back when I took the picture, so they are still perfectly flat. They have"made in the USA" on them. I don't know how old they are, but I'd guess that they were from the ... more1940's or 1950's. These would be nice to display at Christmas. I'm sure Children would enjoy them. Or. They would be great as a special gift tucked into a Christmas card.
