The obverse depicts Saint George standing, holding a spear and shield. On the reverse are ancient Greek and Phoenician letters. The English translation of the ancient Greek words means“Saint George. Using the Phoenician bet, as a prefix, the whole translation reads“with Saint George” The estimated age is late 4th to 5th century C.E. Common Era) Weight: 16.9 grams. Dimensions: 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" Material: Stone Pebble. Background I came by this piece by“accident” I purchased a small wooden box. At an antique auction. The box lid was stuck in the closed position. When I got the box home I pried the top off and found the pendant/cross inside. Not knowing what I had. I embarked on a lengthy Internet search ... morefor information related to a Saint George stone cross/pendant artifacts. I found nothing remotely similar to what I have. In addition I had the piece reviewed by a certified ISA Greek antiquity appraiser, a Greek antiquity dealer in addition to 2 amateur Greek archaeologists. Three of the four believe the piece to be a genuine ancient artifact. The antiquity dealer felt it"might" be a reproduction but he was unsure. The Greek antiquities appraiser advised me he has seen similar artifacts but never one for Saint George. I asked him if the value of the cross would cost justify the expense of a professional appraisal. He said probably not. However. He did offer his opinion of its value. He estimated its worth to be $400- $600. He was kind enough to translated the inscriptions and gave me his estimate of age. Sterling Silver Pendant of Saint George Slaying the Dragon
This is a 1 1/2 inch by 1 inch pendant depicting Saint George slaying the Dragon. Saint George lived around 275 to 303 A.D. It is speculated that he slayed the dragon for the princess of Siliene in what is now modern day Libya. The princess was chosen on that day to be an offering to the dragon so the people of the city could draw water. Because the dragon had taken up residence at their watering hole. The monarch begged for her life but to no avail, because it was done by lottery. St. George happened by and slayed the dragon. Before he did, he made the sign of the cross. The people converted to Christianity after witnessing this. And that is some of the story.

Saint George 15K Solid Gold 4 Ruby Pendant Antique Rare Slaying Dragon Vtg Cameo
You will receive the magnificent 15k gold pendant with 4 rubies(approx 3-4mm) and cameo of St George slaying the dragon. That is pictured! This is a spectacular piece and is museum quality! It is solid 15k, was tested with one of the best gold testers that they make(a Thermo Scientific Niton XRF Precious Metal Analyzer which is used by most gold processing facilities, gold recyclers, refiners, or mining operations. so it is guaranteed to be solid gold. The rubies are gorgeous and have also been tested with a high end gem tester. They are fairly big genuine rubies and measure approx 3-4mm across. It is on excellent near perfect condition, the cameo of St George is a hair bit loose, but not much, and I believe this to be a custom piece, so it may have been meant to be this way. I do not know what the white part is made of, more than likely ... moreits porcelain. This is a gorgeous piece of history! It measures approx 1.5" x 1" It weighs approx 3.7g. I am not sure of the era in which this came from, but I believe it is very very old, cause it is not marked and the english didnt mark a lot of their gold pieces in the 1800's, but again, it is guaranteed genuine gold and rubies. This could be a piece of Great Britain's or Russia's treasure! A lot of Great Britain's gold coins have this image on them! I have not had this appraised, nor do I know an exact value, so I'm starting the auction at what I believe to be an extremely low price, and the buy it now is at a price where I would think it would be worth.
