Antique Beaded Cloche Gatsby Flapper Hat Metallic Thread Jewels Handwork 1920
Hi. You are bidding on an original and rare hat. It is about 100 years old and in remarkable condition for age. The inside has a few areas where the fabric has detached with age. But the outside seems in excellent shape. Someone spent a LONG time on this hat. There are little faux jewels, silver and gold metallic thread, silver metallic ribbon designs all over the hat. The size is hard for me to tell. In one direction I measure 7.5 inches and in the other direction about 6.5 inches but I can wear it so I think it would be considered a S or M. It seems fragile, though, so you probably would only wear it on the most rare of occasions. If you collect antique hats, you will LOVE this one. The jewels are intact and I really cannot find an area of issue except for the inside. This is true vintage, NOT a reproduction. Thank you.

Fine 17th Cen. (?) Canvaswork Embroidery Panel, Silver Metallic Thread, Silk (b)
One of two wonderful possibly 17th Century canvaswork embroidery panels. The two were found tacked to the doors of a 19th Century cabinet. They both measure approx. 24 3/4 x 17 1/2in. with an approx. 1/4in. tacked down border to each side. The designs are comprised of a central figure in cartouche surrounded by flowering vines with birds. Animals, and figures. The backgrounds are in silver toned metal thread. Most of the embroidery is flat with parts of the vines and birds feathers in an elevated crewel stitch. The thread is silk with, I believe, some wool. There is an overall even fading to the colors. The faces look to have been touched up with pencil. These have been difficult to photograph with their silver toned backgrounds. The first set of photos were taken in sunlight. The second in shade. Old Chinese silk hand embroidered flowered cloud robe collar w/ metallic thread
This is a very old. Beautifully hand-embroidered, floral, Chinese silk"cloud" collar with some metallic thread. I can't date it precisely. It's in very good condition, with a little wear from age, a little yellowing, some loose threads, especially where it's attached to the backing. The loop& knot closure is intact. Dimensions: Approximately 10" across at the widest. With a neck opening of about 3" Since camera photos are sometimes blurry. I also scanned it in sections front& back, so those pics should give you more detailed views of the threadwork. Please let me know if you need more info or pics. This piece is beautifully done. And in a nice frame it would be a striking piece of art!

VINTAGE CHINESE ORIENTAL EMBROIDERY METALLIC& SILK THREAD PANEL ON SCROLL Vintage/Antique Chinese Embroidery Various traditional motifs worked in silk and metallic threads on cream silk ground. The embroidered panel is framed by a raw silk fabric with a damask-like floral pattern- this is adhered to a paper backing. Presentation is as a scroll. Cream Embroidered Panel is 55cm x 7.8cm There is a little discolouration to the edges& at the top of the panel(water marked) The coloured fabric outer border has lots of marks at the top. One tiny section(1cm) of metallic couched thread loose. Could be remounted or framed or repurposed. It's a nice little piece.

ANTIQUE PILLOW COVER WITH METALLIC THREAD DESIGN– Embroidery is very intricate and unusual. The main design is in gold-colored metal thread(magnet doesn’t stick) and each edge of those metal designs is hand-stitched to secure it to the backing. Edges closed with hand-stitcheding to the backing(see photos of back) I’m not sure what the black fabric is. It could be silk or satin or? In a couple places the embroidery is gone(see first photo) 24” x 24” This is just a pillow cover that is backed with a different fabric(see photos) to reinforce it and is not a pillow because there is no back fabric so it can be filled. I don’t know where or when this was made. Questions gladly answered and if you know anything about this piece. I welcome your information. Sold as is.

Offered here without reserve is this ca 1920 silk and metallic thread image of an American eagle for the Fraternal Order of Eagles of the type imported from Asia at the turn of the 20th century. Aside from one tear in the background blue fabric(see my picture) and some subtle fading to the right side of the ribbon in the eagle's mouth. She's in superb condition- no loose or missing threads, etc. She thereby makes a bold statement. Framed, this piece measures appx. 32 1/2" x 25" with a sight dimension of appx. 26 1/4" x 19" Beyond this my pictures tell the whole story. So again. Measuring 21" X 20" This piece has been in a frame at some point. Its condition on the front is good, but the back is frayed and may or may not be attached to cardboard. I have not tried to remove it. The age is around 1900- 1920. I would think it has the back of a robe. The metallic thread embroidery is well done. It could be framed or made into a small tabletop under glass.

Antique Chinese Embroidery 5 Claws Dragon in Metallic Thread on Velvet Ground
A wonderful old Chinese embroidery on velvet The cloth is unfinished and may have been a part of a larger piece The velvet fabric measures 28 by 23 inches or 59 by 72 cm the dragon is 19.5 inches or 49.5 cm long The dragon is made from hand embroidered couched metallic thread appliques that are hand sewn and then hand embellished on the velvet fabric. Costume and accessories from two large country houses in SW Scotland, as well as many of the brocante treasures I brought back from France in May. I am continuing to sort and launder the boxes of textiles and ephemera from this trip, and am rather unsuccessfully trying to clear space in my studio… I return to France on 7 th August for some really special antique markets. So do keep popping back to see what I have unearthed! I have a pair of beautiful Georgian framed hand embroidered silkwork pictures dating to around 1760 listed this week- this one is entitled(sic) Extacy. And it is worked in metallic thread on a silk background. It ... moreis in the original oval frame, and is in excellent condition. No damage, splitting or staining of the silk embroidery. The frame measures 19cm x 16cm- the aperture is 15cm x 12cm. The original title in 18th century ink script is still visible on the reverse. The last image shows the second of the pair of embroideries- entitled Adoration. Wonderful duo- Adoration and Ecstasy- what could be a better subject for the boudoir! More photographs below. Antique Brocade Handbag Purse Evening Bag Gold Metallic Thread
This lovely old metallic brocade evening bag has no label. So my guess on its age could be wrong, although I'm sure that it's fairly old. As shown, it has wear to the fabric and to the finish of the metal, and some hard-to-see discoloration here and there. The tiny link holding the handle to the purse is missing on one side and has been replaced with a safety pin. The purse is clean inside and out. Despite the wear. The fabric is not in a fragile state, so this can be used for its original purpose with or without a bit of repair(recommended) or simply displayed as-is as a beautiful relic of a more romantic age. 19th Century/Early 20th Century Syrian ABA Robe - Metallic Thread - Detailed
Up for auction is a late 19th century- early 20th century Syrian aba robe. It was in my grandfather's collection and I inherited it many years ago. I am downsizing and don't have the proper place to keep this beautiful robe. The main color is a russet brown with off-white and grey sections. The robe fabric appears to be wool. There are some silk threads in the needlework. The robe has three sections- right side front. Left side front and back. Each section has an upper and lower section, so each section has a seam line midway down. There is thread work that starts at the bottom hem on the front. Comes up and around the neck and back down to the bottom hem on the opposite side. There are metallic threads as well as threads in red, bright blue, green and black. On the back of the robe is very ornate needlework just below the band of ... moreneedlework just discussed. All is done in metallic thread(see photos) and silk thread. On the right side. Back, is a very detailed pattern in russet, off-white and grey with very narrow design in a dark red colored thread. MEASUREMENTS: TOP TO BOTTOM: 54" FRONT CENTER NECK TO ARM OPENINGS: 30" FROM SIDE SEAM TO SIDE SEAM. ACROSS BACK: 64 1/2" CONDITION: Condition issues are listed below. While there are some holes and two tears. This fabric is not"rotten" or fragile. It is sturdy and quite heavy. TEARS: I found two tears in the left side seam at the bottom. They measure 2" and 1" long. Respectively. HOLES: There are numerous holes throughout the garment. They appear to be moth holes and worn spots from age. I will kindly email very detailed photos from each section upon request) STAINS: There are several stains visible on the off-white sections of the robe. Antique Glass Beaded Applique With French Metallic Thread ~ Large Fragment
French Fragment Lace 2 pcs. of trim Crochet on Netting Scalloped Edge Floral This is a really wonderful Large about 12"long and 4" at the widest area. Trim in French metallic thread. Beads are of a soft blue color. White pearl and the tiny one best as I can tell are a purplish dark color. The material is a soft green seems to be a silk blend and is very delicate does have some holes the backing is a green netting the same color as the front it is in good condition. I would consider this piece as in good usable condition. please enlarge the pictures for a better description and condition. My model Erna is displaying the piece for reference.
