The items are made from beautiful silk damask which has a design of roses and flower baskets. And decorated with fabulous metallic galons. There are a few creases to the silk on the chasuble. The items are made of superb. Very costly silk which is lavishly brocaded with gold wire. Some of the motifs are raised. In addition to the stunning fabric. The chasuble and stole are decorated with magnificent gleaming metallic gold galons. As you would expect from vestments of this age. There is some wear to the silk of the chasuble- but this is mainly on the front and at the shoulders. There have been a few small repairs. There is also some rubbing/areas of wear on the sides of the stole. I have tried to photograph all these worn places. The chasuble and stole are lined with a pale blue glazed cotton. Antique Green Vestment Chasuble (w/ stole, maniple, burse, chalice veil)
Offered for auction is an antique green Roman chasuble set from a vestment collection with chasuble. Stole, maniple,and burse. It needs to be sold quickly hence the low price for the Buy-It-Now. Overall condition is good antique(see below, and pics) The embroidery is blue and that gives the overall color but the base fabric when you look at it is green. The ophreys are beautifully embroidered. Label indicates that it was made in France. Apologies for the poor quality of the photos. And please feel free to ask for more or any other details. Please note the following before bidding or buying this item: 1) The INNER lining of the back of the chasuble is faded– some minor fading can also be seen along the outer bottom of the back of the vestment as well(it appears a little silvery in the second photo- this is NOT the band that appears across ... morethe vestment in the first photo.
