This urn stands 13-1/2" tall to the top of the handles. I started to polished this lovely piece but decided to leave it in its currant patina condition. It is missing the top lid and bottom heating element. There are some scratches and dents that I will show in my pictures. Some of the plating is also worn. Signed Reed and Barton Silver-Plated Vase/Urn (Ashes?) STUNNING Scene!
This Reed and Barton Vase/Urn Stands 4 1/2" tall. The bottom tapers to 3" and is clearly marked with its maker's name and the artist's signature(which is not clear! Dates from 1930's The embossed figures are reminiscent of classic Greek figures at play. Young men in tights and tunics and women in flowing dresses. Along with children, frolic with flutes and tambourines. A young couple in what appears(to this romantic) royal garb; she is holding a small bouquet. Are followed by a young man carrying a decorative something. Can't figure that out! It is really a sweet piece. Upon recent discussion it has been noted that this piece MIGHT have been for the ashes of a loved one. Alas. The top rim is bent a bit. If you were as old as this you might be a bit bent. Too! The cover. Which has a lovely finial, is not necessarily ... morethe correct cover. But it works as a pair. Don't you think? Could use a professional cleaning. Up for auction is an antique Reed& Barton silverplate vase stand with a figural peacock. It is marked on the bottom as pictured and numbered 2430. One of the legs is missing its base– please see pictures. There is no other damage. The piece is 7-1/2” tall.
