Oil companies used horse drawn carts with large tanks of kerosene that would go through the larger cities of America. Fastened to the sides of these tankers were Perfection stoves and heaters that the deliverymen would sell off the cart. Following Standard Oil's breakup in 1916, the oil companies decided to concentrate on the gasoline business and gave up marketing stoves. This vintage Perfection Oil Heater No 660( Made in the USA) was advertised to" give glowing warmth at the touch of a match" and" heats up the coldest room in a few minutes" and" burns 10 hours on a gallon of oil" These stoves were light. Strong, and handsome and easily carried about and would really hit the spot on a cold morning. To light the heating element/wick, just snap the front latch so that the chimney can be opened to expose the wick/heating element which is at the base of the classic blue chimney. VINTAGE 1913 PERFECTION SMOKELESS OIL # 140 C KEROSENE HEATER PARLOR STOVE 140-C
You are bidding on a vintage PERFECTION SMOKELESS OIL HEATER. It is model# 140-C(Which I believe to be from 1913) This is in working order and is really cool! This smokeless heater is in vintage condition. And there is some surface rust from over the years. I love the look as is. However, from my reasearch I have seen these beautifully redone, but I thought it was best to let the restoration up to the new owner. It measures 23.5 inches tall x 16.75 inches at the furthest distance between the legs. The vents all seem to work well. And the heater opens and closes nicely. The oil tank is really cool as well, being made out of either brass or copper! It may need a wick in the near future, but the heater lights up nicely(as can be seen in the pictures) And yes, I emptied out all the oil afterwards in order to avoid a huge mess in the mailing process. ... moreEnjoy. Offered for your consideration is an Antique Perfection Smokeless Kerosene Oil Heater No. 130. Patented May 23, 1913. This antique heater is 24” tall. The chrome/stainless steel trim has surface corrosion and can be restored to its beauty when it was new 100 years ago. The patent date is May 23. 1913. The kerosene oil tank has the fuel gauge that shows how much fuel remains in the tank. I have not tested that to see if it is functioning. There is a wick although I don’t know if it is still usable. Condition is as follows/ shown: Heater is completely original and without restoration minus the 2 top screws were replaced due to being locker down. The paint is fantastic with only a few small rubs to mention. The glass shade is void of damage, the nickel plat is shiney/ bright. There are no dents, heavy scratches, holes, corrosion, heavy rust to mention. The piece still has a wick as shown. I don't believe this was used very much nor has it been exposed to moisture. Antique Perfection Smokeless Oil- Kerosene Heater Antique Perfection Smokeless Oil Heater. I rubbed off enough of the"patina" to determine this heater has 1900 and 1902 patent dates. There is also a"7 12" stamped in the top of the wick cap(see 2nd to last photo) That may indicate a production date. I think the later models came out in 1913. It still has a good Perfection wick. This kerosene heater measures approximately 24 1/2" tall, 12 1/2" side to side, and 12 1/2" front to back. This old heater appears complete except for the sight glass and would make a great restoration project if you want it to look like new. Or you could leave it as is, as shown in photos, for a rustic addition to your decor.

This is used and very dirty. There is some paint and other marks on it as well. There is a used wick in it. The knob turns fairly easily but not very far either way. I never had to use one of these before so I don't know if that is normal or not. The handle is secure. The whole thing is about 8.5" tall and 8.5" across the bottom. And uses the same wick font. The heater has a Perfection kerosene tank that as you can see burns fine. But needs to be adjust somehow, because it is very hard to turn the wick up and down. There is a piece on top of the canister that twist off. Once that is off the wick goes up and down freely, so it is something with that piece that is making it hard to turn the wick up and down. The bottom of the heater has the no. A-602 near the bottom. This is in good condtion with the typical color loss. And just needs the tank that holds the kerosene and wick.

Perfection Unused Kerosene Oil Heater.
Offering a Perfection Kerosene Heater. This heater has never been used. Shows almost no evidence of time. The wick has never had oil in it. It looks great. A good basic Perfection room heater. Blue steel center portion with painted Gloss Black trims. If your not familiar with these heaters they all expect the porcelain models will develop a loss of shine on the upper parts after some use due to the heat. In order to keep them at there best a light fine steel wool to remove any light rust that may form on the steel portions in the off season should be done and if kept oiled or a light coat of WD 40 on them when not in use it will prolong the newer look. It takes a rather large carton which weighs about 21 pounds to ship it well protected. Its packed and will go out as soon as the payment is made on it.

Sometimes called a“straw mark” When the hot glass is held over the mold and just enough is put into the mold. The handler cuts off the molten glass with metal shears, which are much cooler than the molten glass. If this is done just right, so it's thrown to the side of the piece, it blends in with the rest of the glass and doesn't show. When too much, too little, or the molten mix doesn't get thrown to the side, the result is the visible strawmark. Not a crack. Please ask any and all questio ns before bidding.
