Vintage antique syringe with case and one needle period medical equipment
Beautiful antique syringe with incredible detail. Comes with the case which you can see the condition of in the pictures. The snap and latch on the case still works. The plunger on the syringe has no real suction to it, I would assume the stopper(cork? had disintegrated over the years. Still an incredible looking piece though. I hooked it up to a 60 watt light bulb and when plunged it glows for a second. It is made to blast 1-30 dynamite caps. It has a heavy duty dynamo with brushes inside which in powered by the teeth on the plunger and the geared mechanism which produces the electricity needed to blast the caps. There is a trigger mechanism at the base which fires the charge when the plunger reaches the bottom. It has a label inside which says Tadco Australia. 229-231 Burwood rd Hawthorn. Up for your consideration is an early tin plate wet and dry jug marked 1673 This jug stand 21 cm tall and is basically blue decoration on a cream background.With a yellow tassle on front. Drug name OXYMELE COMPOSTO which means a honey and vinegar mixture or syrup. This jug was located in a garden holding a pot plant and has a hole drilled in base to let out water. I have sought further opinion about this items age but unable to verify if it is 1673 or reproduced later The only thing I can say there is age to it. It folds into itself when packed up. It then measures 43cm long 24cm wide and stands 30cm high. When it is in, what seems to be the operating position, it measures 66cm long x 24cm wide and stands 48cm high(not in the tilted position which it then stands 77cm high) In the front compartment there are 2 mirrors and a pair of lenses fitted at eye width similar to a hand held stereoscope. The front of the device extends up via a tin insert. The bottom frame is attached at one end by brackets, it then allows the other end to be lifted up and fixed in 3 positions with a support that also folds away when closed. Hi there once again eBayers! Here’s a rare Antique set of hand held Apothecary Scales! In a timber box. The hand held scales are made of brass. There is no maker’s mark that I can identify on the scales. But they have been meticulously manufactured. The bowls are beaten brass. Suspended with string and there is a glass dish for holding precious and fine substances. There are 5 weights with embossed marks. The largest has“3ij” and“TWO DRACHMS and JLR” around the perimeter. The others are marked(in descending size) 3J” ∍ ij” 3 ⨍” and“ ∍ j” These symbols are an approximation of the actual symbols. The scales and weights have some patina. But are in good condition. The scales are certainly mid to late 19 th century. The lid of the box has a crack across the lid and word“Scales” has been lightly etched onto the lid in cursive script. The opticians, jewellers and importers were based in Lydiard Street, Ballarat until 1902 when Mr Carter died. More information about the Carter and Werner partnership is available here These are a lovely old pair of rimless gold-filled glasses and a genuine piece of Australian goldfields history. They are marked G.F. gold filled) SHUR-ON. The bridge is age typical. Being more in the fashion of a fixed'scroll' style than the later W or saddle bridge. The lenses are ground glass and. As could be expected for an item of this age(especially being rimless) there are a few minor chips. Only one on the top left lens is really noticable. One of the nose pads has been lost to time. Antique Richard Freres French Aneroid Barometer in Australian Cedar Case c.1890
Antique Richard Freres French aneroid barometer set in an Australian cedar case with beveled glass. Both the barometer and case were made around 1890. This is a beautiful scientific instrument. And there aren't many examples of these in Australia. A similar example of this barometer is held by the National Gallery of Victoria. The large brass barrel that holds the paper is clockwork driven. I don't have the key for it. But it uses a standard sized clock key so can easily be replaced. Under the barrel. The brass plate is stamped'Richard Freres, Constructeurs Brevetes, Paris' There is also another stamp in the middle of the brass plate with the RF initials and a serial number 7326. The cedar case is incredibly well made. It is all cedar. And all the original glass panels have wide beveled edges. The top of the case lifts off ... moreto access the barometer. The case would have been made in Australia when the barometer was imported here around 1890, as cedar was primarily used in Australia at the time and not overseas. The case measures 35cm long. 20.5cm wide and 18cm high. Everything is in excellent condition for something this age. There is a small needle that sits in the rod that draws on the paper which is missing in the photos. I have the needle but have had trouble getting it to stay in, must be a knack to it that I'm missing! This barometer is a true museum quality example. I doubt you will find a better one in Australia. Early 20thC. Spectacles in case
Measuring 150mm long. 60mm wide& 18mm deep this spectacle case has had a bit of a hard life with the black surface missing& the board underneath a bit squashed. The arms are springs, giving a flexible fitting& they are both in ellent condition. The Specs themselves are very good,both the frames and the bridge are sound. The only negative is the chip on the outside of one lens.

I know very little about this device. I got it when I was a kid at a garage sale. I actually wanted a movie projector but thought this looked cool. It came with a 12v globe but I never wired it. It just decorated my room. It is heavy. It is mostly brass and cast iron- very well built and I believe it is very old. I never found a makers mark on it- maybe you can or you know who made it, if so please send me a message or buy it, advertise it better and make a profit! Sold as is. Local pick up is ok.

Of the 3 that are there two(nos 3 and 4) are labelled E Leitz Wetzlar whilst the other is just marked"2" There are 4 objective lenses(marked 3. 7 and 12 as well as E Leitz Wetzlar) and what is obviously a replacement(marked 2 and C Baker London) We're open to reasonable offers- please don't waste all of our time by unrealistic ones.
