~ Antique Salt Box ~ This listing is for an antique porcelain salt box. The white box has a fancy raised design with angled front corners and a decorative cornice on the front edge. The front has a blue windmill and house scene. Gold details on the cornice and edges, and a word in gold that could be"Salt" or"Salz" the gold script is very old and faded, and I'm not sure what it says. The sides have smaller versions of the wind mill scene. The hinged top is shaped to match the shape of the box. The backing is also wood with a carved design. A hole in the backing was used for hanging it on the wall. NOTE: the backside of the wood backing doesn't look too good as apparently it wasn't taken down when the kitchen was painted. And there are a lot of paint drips on it. The inside of the box is stained and dirty. The ... morebacking is held on by 2 short nuts and bolts. And wood washers. NOTE: there is a hairline crack above the top bolt(see photo) A lot of the gold is worn and faded; some is totally gone. Some of it is still there and in good shape. For auction is a pair of antique porcelain salt& pepper shakers with delicate hand painted pink roses and green leaves and beaded gold trim. There are also gold highlights around the holes in the tops of the shakers and both have corks in the bottoms. The gold highlights are nice and bright with the exception of wear to the bands around the tops of the shakers. The hand painted floral designs are in excellent condition. The shakers are approximately 3 1/2 inches high and 2 1/4 inches in diameter at the widest point. There is wear to the gold bands around the tops of the shakers. ANTIQUE ASIAN SHAKER W/ SILVERPLATE TOP & COBALT BLUE PORCELAIN BODY W/ POPPIES
This is a beautiful antique Asian inspired shaker with hand painted orange poppies all around the body along with poppy leaves painted in gold on a gorgeous cobalt blue body. The shaker cap is marked e.p.n.s. and has unusual patter of cutouts in the shape of diamonds. Circles and exclamation marks[ for lack of a better description] in the silver metal top. The cutouts are to large for a shaker. So am unsure as to what the original purpose for the shaker was, possibly a coarser grained material. The top fits very tightly and I was able to remove it to inspect the inside but did not put it all the way back on. The inside is in great condition and I did not find any residue of any substance within the body. The bottom of the body of the shaker is crazed as you can see from the pictures and has the makers marks of a gold crown and rope in a pretzel ... moreshape along with numbers. The cobalt blue body does not have crazing. Where the porcelain meets the silver on the body there are a number of bead-like decorations on the porcelain. The measurements are 5 1/8 in. tall and the base is 1 3/4 in. across.

This features a girl from Alsace, France in traditional wear. Lusterware was used often in the 1920's and 30's and it gives the item a rainbow effect. This beautiful open salt will be a wonderful conversation piece on your table! It is in excellent condition with no chips or repairs! It has a very small shrinkage line on the front from the kiln which is normal for antique porcelain and mentioned for accuracy. For auction is this lovely pair of porcelain salt and pepper shakers made in Japan. Deep blue accented with gold gilt. Hand painted with delicate pink flowers and pale green leaves. Look closely at the pictures to see the slight variations in the floral design and other embellishments. There is some gold loss around the holes in the pepper shaker. This set is a very nice investment grade piece. Comes with the original cork stoppers. Some natural age crazing as seen in pic#6. Antique China Porcelain Pepper Shaker Green with Pink Roses
You are bidding on this Antique Porcelain China Pepper Shaker. It is Green with Pink Roses. It is unmarked. This shaker is slightly different from another one I have listed. It is smaller and doesn't have gold embellishments. I have several pieces that go with this Shaker listed separately. It measures 2 1/2" tall x 2" across. There was still pepper inside.
