It's somewhat like a tiny shallow bowl, measuring 11/16" from bottom rim to top rim. It's 2.75" across the top. I combine shipping when able to. ~ Antique Salt Box ~ This listing is for an antique porcelain salt box. The white box has a fancy raised design with angled front corners and a decorative cornice on the front edge. The front has a blue windmill and house scene. Gold details on the cornice and edges, and a word in gold that could be"Salt" or"Salz" the gold script is very old and faded, and I'm not sure what it says. The sides have smaller versions of the wind mill scene. The hinged top is shaped to match the shape of the box. The backing is also wood with a carved design. A hole in the backing was used for hanging it on the wall. NOTE: the backside of the wood backing doesn't look too good as apparently it wasn't taken down when the kitchen was painted. And there are a lot of paint drips on it. The inside of the box is stained and dirty. The ... morebacking is held on by 2 short nuts and bolts. And wood washers. NOTE: there is a hairline crack above the top bolt(see photo) A lot of the gold is worn and faded; some is totally gone. Some of it is still there and in good shape. Measures approximately 5-7/8" tall without the cornice; 6-3/4" to the top of the cornice; 4" front to back. And 4-3/4" side to side. The wooden backing is 11-3/4" tall. For auction is a pair of antique porcelain salt& pepper shakers with delicate hand painted pink roses and green leaves and beaded gold trim. There are also gold highlights around the holes in the tops of the shakers and both have corks in the bottoms. The gold highlights are nice and bright with the exception of wear to the bands around the tops of the shakers. The hand painted floral designs are in excellent condition. The shakers are approximately 3 1/2 inches high and 2 1/4 inches in diameter at the widest point. There is wear to the gold bands around the tops of the shakers. For auction is this lovely pair of porcelain salt and pepper shakers made in Japan. Deep blue accented with gold gilt. Hand painted with delicate pink flowers and pale green leaves. Look closely at the pictures to see the slight variations in the floral design and other embellishments. There is some gold loss around the holes in the pepper shaker. Up for your consideration is a beautiful pair of antique porcelain gilt floral salt& pepper shakers. These belonged to my grandmother. The motif is a delicate floral of blues and pinks on a pale yellow stripe that goes around the middle(hard to see in pictures. See picture 2) There is gold plating on the tops(with some minor use wear again see pictures) and a thin stripe of gold on the bottoms. Near the top is a stripe of spring green followed by a black intricate geometric border. These little beauties are exquisite! Very nice to excellent vintage condition with no cracks.
