Vintage Early Plastic Blue & Silver Beaded Necklace - No Stone
This is a vintage early plastic blue and silver beaded necklace. The previous owner told me it was one she wore in the 60's. It has blue beads all of the same size and silver coated plastic separator beads between. There is a split ring on one end and a spring ring clasp on the other. It measures 25" total length and when worn has a length of 12" Some of the silver beads have lost some of their coating and there are light scratchings here and there on the blue beads. All signs of natural wear. There are a lot of testing methods out there to determine if it Bakelite. Etc. My preferential test is the smell test. All I do is set the item on a cloth in the Sun for a 1-2 minutes. In the hot Texas sun it doesn't take much time than that and it is so much easier than running it under hot water. Here is a fine old Santo Domingo necklace with 11 beautiful mosaic inlay tablets. These are old collector's items made around the time of the Great Depression. My photos don't serve well describing this nice piece. The white areas of the mosaic is abalone/mother of pearl with luminous prisms and the very pale mint green turquoise looks too pale in most shots. This impoverished era saw the use of all sorts of materials in their necklaces but I believe(not 100% sure) this is stone and shell.It appears to feature shell. Vintage Oglala Lakota Sioux stone warclub. Circa 1890's-1900's. Origin: Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota. In MINT, OUTSTANDING condition. Crafted by an Oglala Lakota warrior at the beginning of the post-reservation period. Obtained at an auction house in Montana by a previous owner. Formerly a privately-owned estate piece. River stone head is both extremely well-shaped and very tightly affixed to the handle; has absolutely no play! Buckskin leather and rawhide stitching under the beadwork is immaculate. Handmade Customized CM Breyer Peter Stone Beaded/Tasseled Arabian Costume
Up for sale is a black. Gold, and silver beaded and tasseled Arabian costume. The saddle is held in place by velcro and is very easily to remove or to adjust. The reins are attached to the model with clasps and are also easily removable. The bridle is very elastic and can slip on and off models. The saddle is black leather made of black leather and is embroidered in gold stitching. There is also a tasseled brow-band that is gold, flexible, and removable. A gold braided lead that clips onto the bridle is also included. But not pictured. The costume. In my opinion, is PSQ or Novice LSQ. The nice thing about it is that it slips on easily to a wide variety of Traditional models and does not scratch them. The carved zodiac animals are snake. Monkey, dragon and all of the rest of the symbols. The condition is good with slight wear- one of the rabbit beads has some damage to its ear.
