VINTAGE Silk and Pearl Beaded Collar with Hook & Eye Closure
This belonged to my grandmother and is at least 50 years old. I've been carrying this around for most of my adult life. And I have absolutely no use for it. Grandma was a seamstress and often added collars, cuffs, velvet decorations, whatever, and made pieces as well as purchasing pieces. This one is in amazing condition. The backing is pristine. as you can see in the photos, and the silvery thread. running throughout the collar is excellent as well. The only issue this collar has is that some of the"pearls" or white beads have lost sheen and some color. However, I happen to think this lends itself to a more vintage look, if it were perfectly white it wouldn't look right. Anyway, have a look at the photos and let me know if you need more info.

I don't know much about this piece. I picked it up from an estate sale a long time ago. The pearls are genuine and I believe to be Tahitian pearls. There are close to 250 pearls included on this gorgeous necklace. all perfectly placed. It is a beautiful statement piece. Stunning in every way and hard to believe someone must have spent so many hours on it.

Over the years I have loved pearls and have had numerous white pearl dance costumes. This is one of my favorites. It is romantic. Elegant and understated(why does every costume have to be made of the super brightest colors ever! how about a bit of subtlety and delicacy. This costume is a vintage ivory/white pearl costume with silver embroidery(on one of the skirts) and Rhinestone accents. It is relined, refurbished and reinforced. There are two different panel skirts. One was originally a shawl with rows of silver brocade, organza and some wool(largely replaced) I have continued to add layers of lace and trim for design and reinforcement. There is also a second panel skirt made of ivory sequins and gold accents(photo included) This costume includes a detachable drape of long, white fringe(photo: fringe hangs on a separate elastic band, so ... moreone can wear the costume with or without it) When I wore it, I had the fringe stitched to the skirt panels, to keep the panels from opening too much. For the next owner, you may stitch or pin the fringe to where it hangs best for your figure. I am also including a row of long silver fringe, which can be worn separately or with the white fringe(photos depict a few styling versions with the 2 skirts and 2 types of fringe. Btw, I always loved tons of fringe. But one could also wear this with just the short pearl fringe that is on the belt! When wearing layers of fringe. Even if the skirt panels are revealing, the fringe creates a distraction and an interplay between covering and uncovering the legs. The pieces to this costume include: bra. It consists of a thicker pale gold silk moire ribbon fragment with very tiny clear glass beadwork(filled with gold center) Faux glass pearls and the tinies handmade cotton 5/16" lace. One can see the hand-stitched threads along the back. It is being sold"AS IS" This measures approximately 8" x 2 5/16" total;this is a sweet treasure and is my only piece. There are minor flaws. I.e. missing/broken pearl, lace needs re-attachment.none of this is a major issue.one will love it.this was acquired directly from France and I believe it is ecclesiastical in nature.
