This auction is for a fantastic Faux Pearl Collar from the 1940's or 50's. Sweaters became popular women's wear in the late 1930's. Soon after. Peter Pan" collars became the rage to wear with the sweaters. Each collar was detachable and they allowed your sweater to be dressed up or down as needed for various occasions. The faux pearl collar was often made in Japan and was most popular. This collar is 16" long by just over 1" wide. It has a hook and eye clasp. The beads are two sizes of round faux pearls and elongated smaller pearls between the rows of round ones. The material backing has some discoloration which is typical of this type and age of collar. This is a gorgeous beaded(with beads that resemble pearls) clutch with a very buff zipper. It's a very heavy bag for its size. It also has a daisy designed beaded in. It is truly gorgeous and came from an estate sale which had items dating back to the 1800's. Some of the items were from the 1920's. I'm not sure if this dates back that far or not. A cream colored lining and a silvertone closure. It measures approximately 4 inches tall 7 3/4 inches wide and has a 2 inch depth(this is an approximate depth measurement because of the type of purse it is it is hard to measure. I am offering this vintage. Depression or Flapper Girl era hat. The hat is a cloche style and is made of pale blue felt. It is embellished with lots of small pearls covering it and a pretty pin wheel design with pearls at the right side. The hat is dramatic and pretty but not without issue. There is one large pearl missing as shown in photo#9 and there are numerous little pearls that lost the pearly finish, a few that are missing and a couple that have very small hole underneath them as shown in photo#10. There is a tag inside that reads“Made in Japan” and the button is stamped“Hasi Hato” I tried to date this item. But could not find an exact copy– I found very similar ones dated from the 1940s through the 1960s. Measurements are approximately 8 ¼” long x 4” tall x 1 ¼” wide. Some of the silver/gray beads have lost some of their coloring due to use. I believe there might be only a single missing bead(bottom left side on back– pictured with pen tip– maybe its an intentional space though? any other spacing between beads seems ... moreintentional(left side from front– pictured– stitching is tight. No room for a bead) The ivory colored satin interior has a lot of marks(which may or may not come out with proper cleaning) but no rips or loose stitching. Vintage 1940's 50's- Hollywood Style Pearl Beaded& Sequin Sweater Blouse- Some pics are with camera flash some are without- Measurements are as follows- 24" pit to pit. 29"1/2 middle top of collar to bottom, 24" sleeves, Sweater/ Blouse is in great condition. No holes or rips,only trivial issue is the most slight faint age color under the immediate pit and honestly its almost impossible to see.took me 5 times to get any of the slight discoloration to come out in pictures, also one tiny tiny little pin head size dot on lower front as pictured which i believe will come out with a gentle cleaning,i believe this is a crepe rayon or even silk,has what i believe is an acetate lining.i see no sequin beading or pearls missing at all.has all of its clips and catches.top to bottom this piece really really is gorgeous.i think ... morethe owner of this will be very pleased with it.keep in mind though it is more of a fragile piece but it has lots of life left in it, nothing is degraded or falling apart what so ever.
