This is a very nice pair of Edwardian beaded shoes. With Louis heels. The leather a brown iridescent color, and a wide strap with two buttons. The beads are a light bronze color, with some larger, round bronze shapes. There is a"9" incised on the bottom of each sole. They measure. On the bottom outside sole, toe to back of heel, 9 1/4" long, they are 3" at their widest. Very good overall condition. The leather is supple. Color bright and consistent, with no splits or tears. There is a narrow, frayed area at the edge of one instep, this is about 1" and can be seen in the closeup. This shoe also has a 1/2" similar area on the strap. The soles have some expected wear, there might be a bead missing here and there. The insides are clean, there are no size or manufacturer's markings. Five Day Auction! Iridescent clear sequins and clear glass beads. The beads are sewn in flower shapes. The inside looks clean, but there is a small snag near the bottom. The purse folds over so it looks like a clutch. When laid out flat, the clasp is at the top and it looks like one large pocket with a clasp. The inner part has a zipper pocket. It consists of a fine navy blue silk taffeta ground(doubled) with tiny iridescent peacock glass beadwork in the center of the flower as well as along the edges. It has this unique fine metal thread that I have never seen before.It has tiny horizontal lines in its weave. It is difficult to see without a loop;the threads also have an old patina.This is in wonderful condition aside from a 3/4" slit at the top edge. This is a beautiful unique vintage beaded purse in an iridescent brown bead with a very unique criss-cross design. The purse has an interesting chain strip. A cut work antique brass( closure. It has pockets inside. There are a couple of strings that have lost some beads. I have a small plastic bag inside the purse with a number of the loose beads. Someone familiar with beading could probably fix it. It is a very beautiful purse. The beads must be glass because the purse alone weights 15.2 ounces. It is approximately 9 ½” across the widest part of the purse, it is approximately 6 ½” across the metal portion of the top and is approximately 7 ½” tall. It has a satin lining.
