DIABLO STERLING SILVER OVERLAY BUCKLE HUGE HEART SHAPE W/ STONES!!NR
This is a really pretty vintage buckle from the makers at Diablo. I would put this one about 1980's. This is a BIG buckle. But still very feminine. It is an overall heart shape sterling overlay. The silver on this buckle is the thick quality stuff. The entire surface of the buckle is deeply engraved with a combination of cactus flowers, swirls and feathers. If you are looking directly at the buckle, the top left side has a raised jewelers gold overlay that follows the engraving on the silver starting with a single cactus rose centered with a bright ruby stone. The bottom right of the buckle has the same overlay detail as well with two stone centered flowers. This raised overlay is taken right to the edges of the buckle, and the maker has created a really interesting illusion with this, because the remaining edges have been offset with ... morea heavy rope edge done in the same jewelers gold. It is interesting how these two large accented areas are perfectly balanced by defining their opposing edges in such an understated fashion. Take a close look at the pictures and see how seamlessly these edges were constructed. The buckle measures a meaningful 4" high by 3.5" at the widest points. This would look great in the Show ring, with your favorite jeans, or will dress up your favorite dress or skirt as well. This would make a great gift for any cowgirl. Also. If you run a barn that sponsors class awards or year end awards like I used to, it doesn't get any better than this.especially at this starting price. This is a fabulous vintage 2 piece set of chrome heart shaped trays with Bakelite handles. Made by the famous CHASE company. They are 10" wide and 3-7/8" wide. The yellow Bakelite handles are in EXCELLENT CONDITION. No chip or cracks and circularly attatched. There are NO dents on the chrome. Only very minor surface scratching from use through the decades.
