The leather is not conditioned and looks to be not high quality, but still fully functional. The picture of the rusty buckle is on the throatlatch so can be replaced if one wanted. RARE ANTIQUE COPPER GOLD SILVER METAL BULLION BEADED GLASS GRAPES LEAF TRIM FRG
This auction is for a spectacular antique hand-beaded applique trim fragment depicting grapes and leaves. It consists of elaborate detailed copper. Gold, silver metal bullion leaves, tiny silver cut faceted metal beads and glass stones in shades of purple and green depicting grape clusters. The underside is a fabric base with hand-beaded threads shown throughout. This is in wonderful condition with no major flaws that I detect. I do not see any missing beads. The silver metal coils throughout have some minor tarnishing on each petal at edge. This is inherent with age, but this only makes it more charming with a great patina. The trim fragment is very pliable and should be handled with care due to its fragility. This does not mean that it is falling apart. However, if one pulls on it, especially between each leaf motif, it will tear. Please ... morenote: the green and purple glass beads are a bit lighter in shade than photos depict. They each measure approximately 1" x 3/4"the leaf motifs are about 1 1/4" in diameter. I do not believe I have ever seen anything like it. This is being sold"As Is" It measures approximately 7.5" x 2"at its widest point;the glass stones are about 1/8" in depth. I believe this may be French in origin. But am not absolutely certain. RARE GORGEOUS ANTIQUE 20s OPALESCENT GLASS BEADED SILVER METAL TRIM HDMD 18"x5/8
This auction is for a superb antique circa 1920s handmade glass beaded trim. This lovely piece. Along with another trim previously sold in auction, were both found at an old estate in New York. Its header consists of lovely faceted opalescent/pearlescent glass beads in which no two are alike and are in different shapes and sizes. There are multi-strands of silver metal threads which are wrapped with thicker silk threads. The silk thread is also woven through the opalescent beading and secured to the base. At the bottom portion, there are two clear glass tube-like/cylindrical shaped beads which have a small hole in both ends and the surrounding area is a little thicker. In the middle of these two beads at the bottom there is an opalescent glass bead being the same as in the header. The cylindrical beads are also not exactly alike and the silver ... morelining inside the beads are at different heights in the glass. The top edge of the header has three very tiny clear glass round beads shaped like picots(two at bottom and one in the top middle. The dangles are also moveable as one can see in the photos depicted. This trim is very special and is a must for the collector of unique beaded trims. There are no flaws that I detect and it is in great condition with no missing or broken beads. Fantastic Antique Candle Lamp Peg Insert with Shade Holder. Gorham Silver Shade and 4 Lampshades. What a find! Comes with all items shown in the photos. The silver shade is marked Gorham Co 015 and has an anchor before the word Gorham. It measures 3" tall. Has a 2" opening at the top and roughly 5" opening at the bottom. The candle peg lamp has no makers mark that I can find. But does have PAT APPL'D FOR at the bottom. It is spring loaded. It measures 9" tall. The peg is about 7/8" diameter. The celluloid sleeve appears dirty. There is an old candle in the shaft- this is how it came. The shade holder is slightly bent. But is very pliable so it could be fixed easily. The 4 lampshades are in quite good condition for their age. The white one is dirty. But with the silver shade on top. You can't tell. It has glass ... morebeads that are all intact. The others have what I think is silk fringe, the brown one has a silk shade as well. The other two have oil cloth I think. All show some dirt. But again, with the silver shade on top. You can't tell.
