pink plastic tulip luau necklace earrings set NOS, vintage beaded, molded carved
I was really excited when I came across this: the earrings are still on card and both earrings and necklace show no signs of use- so I'm listing it as new old stock(NOS) These necklaces were popular in the 1950s. When colorful jewelry was a new kind of thing, and they were made in Hong Kong, but usually, you see these tulip necklaces in white rather than pink, and rarely earrings and necklace together- so it's a really cool find. The material is a thermoplastic- I'm guessing cellulose acetate. The design imitates carved designs of earlier decades, but there are clear mold lines(see pictures) The necklace is about 39" long and there's no clasp- you just put it over your head- so you can wrap it around your neck twice. It's very handy that it doesn't have a clasp since then. You don't have to worry about the ... moreclasp shifting from your back. Each tulip bead is 5/8" long. Please check for more vintage plastic jewelry! Please note that color may be slightly different from pictures due to differences in cameras and monitors. I'm not a pro photographer but I take photos in natural light to try to make sure that's not a big issue. Vtg Platform Shoes Wood Soles Hand Carved & Painted Eagles Beaded Velvet Toes
I don't know when or where these shoes were made but they are hand made. I think these are maybe from the Phillipines; perhaps occupation era or perhaps pre-WWII tourist stuff. I suppose they could be from the Phillipines or Mexico. Anyone have info please give me a clue. I wear a size 6.5 and these are too big for me- enough so that I'm sure they're at least a 7.5 or even an 8. The heels are 3" tall. I figure these are machine produced basic wooden shoe forms that were hand carved by individuals. The carver had some talent. The sides of the shoe are painted bright red; the tops are nicely varnished and the eagle is painted shades of blue with a light brown body and shiny gold paint accents. The part over the toes is canvas underneath with red furry style velvet(think hats) with tiny die cut flower shapes- some of cotton. ... moreSome of velvet- plus beaded arrow shapes. This is attached with a narrow leather strap that's tacked down with metal rounds. The flaws- there's a spot where the red paint wore near the side of each velvet piece; 1 damaged little flower& next to that a missing beaded arrow. I set a shoe atop a yardstick set against the wall& the shoe is 9 1/4" long; they're 2 3/4" wide across the sidest part of the wood sole(this isn't a very good measurement- inside it's 3" across) And the velvet over the foot has a decent amount of room. I must say these shoes have me unsure of the age. The materials used for the toes looks almost victorian to me& I'm kind of at a loss dating them.

The panels are possible made out of ox bone or bone of a serpent or dragon on the ocean feeding. The bottle has a stopper with a sharpened spoon attached that is detachable. Fish fetishes are about 2 1/2 to 2 3/4" long. Weight of piece alone is approx. 2oz. Necklace contains 6 carved(bone? fish fetishes. 3 stained brown(walnut stain? and 3 white attached to the fringe. Also on the fringe are what appears to be a rose coral piece and 2 metal(silver? beads with designs on them. The colored beads appear to be glass. I believe the leather to be deerskin. Very soft. The fetish necklace is in very nice condition with almost no wear. I believe this was hand made by Native Americans to be sold to tourists as souvenirs on the reservations maybe from the northwest U.S. I do not know how old this piece is but it is NOT new! howdy folks. On to the next item of the day is a vintage hand carved and hand beaded drum hand made by the Mexican indian tribe of the huichol. This is genuine Mexican folk art which stands 8 inches high and 4 inches across. Hand made by teodoro lopez and also written on the inside is the word santaiatari, I think. I KNOW they are smaller than my size 10 and NARROW. By tape measure insole toe to heel 9 1/2" Flat sole(bottom) heel to toe is 8 3/4" Width is 2 3/4"measured across the sole. A little more give in the band. Best to find a similar shoe you already own and take a quick measure to see how they compare. OR just use for a kitschy decoration. antique meerschaum cigar pipe cheroot holder carved beaded leaf carving
from a small collection in an estate we are currently working with. This is holder I believe is for a small cheroot or cigar but the stem is broken chip out of part closest to meerschaum and does not stay in place. orig box not bad condition worn around the edge and some of the covering missing but hinges and catch are fine the holder is in very nice condition. The inside of the top is clean as well it is nicely detailed and has an almost clear bead in centers of leaf design and the opening at top is just 1/2 inch not cracked or chipped
