The Deer is worked in tiny seed beads on a punched paper backing and the"ground" is worked in wool. The colors are more subtle than they appear in the images. The sampler is in a carved wood frame, there is an old paper label on the back which I cannot decipher, the few words look like they are German. Overall dimensions are 8 7/8" wide x 6 5/8" high. The bead work is in good condition with only a few loose beads. This week we have t his pair of vintage hand painted carved wooden wedge mules sandal shoes date from the 1940s. They are from a wwii estate collection(the woman was in the ROTC WWII) They are made of a hand painted carved wood. With a cut out tropical hut, palm tree heel and hand beaded velvet fabric across the instep front vamp. These stunning sandal shoes have a backless mule slip on slipper style, open toes, a platform front and wedge heels. After the war, American GIs(or in the case a woman) returned home with these shoes as gifts for their girlfriends,wives or themselves. Each“souvenir shoe” contained a miniature scene inside its wooden heel. The shoes measure 9 inches long(measured straight from heal to toe) 2 3/4 inches wide and have a 3" inch high heel. I believe they are a size 7. They are in good condition, with some wear, ... moredings and nicks on the wood and the trim edging along the fabric vamp sides is frayed and loose. There is a woman's head on top with some damage to her nose. It is in very good overall condition. There was a repair to one piece of the ornate wood carving(photographed) that is very well done. There is little to no wear to the slipper pouch. The colors of the pouch are predominately green. White, clear, amber, and dark brown. It measures 24" tall x 12" wide. This would be a great addition to the period Victorian home. Nice decorative wall hanging that is fairly large in size. Nice workmanship. You won't be disappointed. I'm not sure when they made these with the carved Celluloid handles? Has a Cornucopia theme and is extra large at almost 11 inches from the top down and 8 inches at the widest point, the celluloid top is about 6.5 inches wide. The beaded handle is pretty fragile I think this was the best one this beaded purse collector had in her collection because she had a plexiglass case made to keep it clean and protected. Its not a museum quality case but its included with the purse. This is a beautiful made purse and has been preserved in great shape for more than 100 years suitable for a museum or your private collection. Vintage 24" long necklace; carved red cinnabar beads strung on red silk( thread w/a lovely oval clasp marked silver(w/a vermeil gold wash) This old beauty is from the turn of the century China, I believe, circa 1900's. Each hand-carved bead is just over 1/2" in diameter& there's a knot between each one. The silver, oval, push-in type clasp is hallmarked& has some nice decorations on top. Vintage Cinnabar Red Chinese Carved Lacquer Beaded Necklace and Bracelet
Up for bid is a matching Chinese cinnabar beaded necklace and bracelet. Both are in very good vintage condition from the early 1900's. The necklace has no clasp as it is long enough to slip over your head. The necklace is approximately 29" long. Beads are varying sizes. The round beads are approximately 3/8" across and the largest are approximately 1 3/8" x 3/4" There are 47 total carved beads. Any color variance is due to lighting. It is the darker rusty Cinnabar. The bracelet is a little over 7" long with 12 beads. The round beads are the same size as on the necklace. The larger beads on the bracelet are smaller in width than on the necklace.
