Antique Victorian 1800s Black Glass Beaded Mourning Shawl Civil War Era Mohair
I know little about this shawl? but it is really old and I'm guessing from the Civil War Era. The raised diamonds shapes are a fuzzy material that may be mohair and the background material has an unusual looking weave. There are small glass bead things sewn throughout all around the diamond shapes with some triangle shaped glass beads or buttons around the neck and round button beads that go up one side over the shoulder and back down the other side of just one shoulder. There are numerous missing glass bead buttons but it looks like well over 90 percent are intact. It was hard to get good pictures but it is sewn and made with two formed shoulder areas and the long things that hang down the front are not sleeves and they are either for decoration or to be wrapped around the neck. The neck area had a very thin fine lace that is mostly ... moregone and one of the round balls on the end of the drape ends is gone. The inside lining is like a silk type material and some of the stitching is loose under the arm area and along the edges and seams but for the most part it is loose seams and not torn up material. I would say that this shawl is in overall pretty solid condition except for the loose stitching and I don't know how to determine the size but the shoulders are about 16 inches across when lying flat.

Up for sale is a very nice old shaker from the Tarentum Glass Co. Circa 1898-1904. This shaker is the Beaded Square pattern in black opaque opalware with four beaded panels, and has an floral etching on each side that had hints of white hand painting that mostly has worn off. This is a square shaped shaker. There is a tiny tiny chip on the bottom. Shaker has no chips or cracks, and comes with an old metal lid that has some small dents. Size is approximately 2" tall. Vintage 1940's black carnival glass beaded purse in beautiful shape. The purse 11" long by 6.5 high and base of purse is 3 3/4 wide and fully extended strap is 15"tall with strap. The only wear we see is along the zipper. The inside is black satan like fabric. The strap is in great shape. The zipper is a Sepval and works great and has a tassel on it. Lined with a lavender silk interior, there are 2 oval frames sewn in between the lining and the velvet for shape, one at the base and one in the center. The purse closes with a narrow black grograin ribbon that gathers, there are a couple areas where the ribbon has broken loose from the lining. 1920s Antique Black Glass Beaded Dress Trim Vintage Supplies Lot of 2 Pieces
Two pieces of authentic antique black glass beaded dress trim salvaged from vintage 1920s dresses with dangles or fringe. Both pieces of antique trim are ready to be used again and are very sturdy in construction. The largest one is fine bead work in different sizing and has accents of larger glass beading in the center and long dangles that end in pointed beads or round beads. The dangles are different lengths. One of the long pointed dangle beads is missing. A few of the tiny beads are missing but this is very minor. A few of the old thread stitches are still evident. It is 8" long and 2 1/2" wide. The other piece has black light weight large oval celluloid type beads with tiny glass beads surrounding the design. Seven strand of fine beads attach the two pieces of celluloid beads. Fabric backs the large beads. It is 6" long ... moreand 1 1/2" wide. All beads are intact. The lower plastic beads have a whitish cast from aging. Overall in very good condition. These pieces are sold as a lot and are genuine antique trim. Use for sewing supplies.
