I am unsure of the exact manufacture of these beads. They appear to have many of the characteristics of older wound Dutch beads though I suppose they could be Venetian as well. These have an interesting mix of turquoise and black coloration and a unique‘rice’ shape. These Venetian beads ~African trade beads~ were made on the island of Murano. Italy from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. During that time, Venice beadmakers produced a huge variety of designs specifically for the African trade, including millefiori, chevrons, striped melons, feather, eye beads, and white hearts. I bought these beads from West African dealers at the Tucson, Arizona Gem and Mineral Show between 1990-1994. So very well constructed dress as to be expected from this label. Fully lined and zips up to a very wide open back. Thick padded bullet bra cups are basted in and could be easily removed, if desired. This pair of rosaries are a repair lot. I will describe both. First is a black wood bead silver tone cross. Connector and tag. Tag indicates Double Wired, Italy, Indecrochable. Almost 22" long. The cross, Jesus has been broken off. I do not have him. There is a bit of white paint on a couple beads and a bit tarnished connector. The other rosary is made up of a light blue glass. The cross and connector look brass. It does look a little tarnished and links are broke. I think this one could easily be fixed. VINTAGE 100% WOOL LADIES BLACK HAT. This hat is really awesome. I am not sure of the style or the age of this beautiful item but it looks like it is in mint condition. The brim is 4" in the front and tapers to 2 1/2" in the back. There is netting around the entire brim of the hat in pleats around the lower part of the crown and a large bow type out of netting in the back. There are black sequins with a string of beads running down the middle of them above the netting on the brim and there is a V that comes from the back of the crown and follows the netting to a peak in the front of the crown. There is a gathering of netting at the back that makes a large display. There is also a line of black sequins around the band of the hat and the black beads are down the center of them. NATIVE AMERICAN 40" CHOKER, BLACK HAIRPIPE, RED, BRASS BEADS, ABALONE, NICE!
This listing is for a 40 3/4" HANDMADE. FOUR-STRAND CHOKER, BLACK HAIRPIPE BEADS, BRASS BEADS, RED& BLACK PLASTIC CROW BEADS, LEATHER, BEADED ABALONE DISK MEDALLION AND BLACK LEATHER TIES. Native American Origin. This One Piece Necklace is Handmade by an un-named Yurok Artisan. The Yurok are from the extreme Northern California Coastal Region. The Choker is Vintage from the 1970's. Likely pre-owned; however, most of the pieces we have are vintage, Unworn. The Brass Beads resting against the Leather pieces have oxidized and will need to be cleaned. The oxidation can be seen in the close-up photos. This Choker is fairly old. But Well-Made-it's Not loose or falling apart. There is wear to some of the Beads, which is to be expected from a vintage piece. The Choker is a total 12 3/4" length with each Black Leather Strip/Tie ... morebeing 13" and 15" long. A 1" Beaded Abalone Disk adorns the center of the Choker. The Choker is strung with twine; 1" x 1/4" pieces of Brown Leather are at each end of the Choker. Tying it off and 2 beaded sections are anchored by the pieces. The Black Leather strips are tied and knotted at each end. The Beads are approx. 5cm with the Hairpipe Beads being 1 1/2" long. The pattern is 1 Brass Bead; 1 Red Bead; 1 Brass Bead; 1 Hairpipe Bead; 1 Brass; 1 Red; 1 Brass; Leather Piece; Brass; Red; Brass Hairpipe.this pattern goes on to the center where there is a vertical row of 4 Black Crow Beads and the pattern continues to the end of the Choker. The Artisan probably ran out of Brass Beads because there is one lonely Black Crow Bead on the bottom of the first vertical row. The thick. 1" Abalone disk is semi-square and tied to the center of the Choker. It has a beautiful iridescence and a beaded design strung in the middle; the back of the disk has some iridescence with the shell having an"Orange" tint. There are 3 Small Glass Beads-Red. Black and Light Blue; a faceted Clear Glass Bead with 3 small Glass Beads at each side-Red, Green, Red;

The first is a statement-making. Vintage, macramé necklace is hand-made is weighs 2½ pounds and is 32” long! Chunky. Dark and medium orange rope is macramé into a beautiful, braid-like design with large, accenting glass and Fimo clay beads in various colors, shapes and designed beads(some iridescent colors) The beads in addition to dangling are braided into the braid design of the necklace. It fastens in the back with a macramé loop at one end and a Fimo bead at the other that threads through. The next ... moremeasures 30” and has lots of different colors. Sizes, shapes, textures, materials beads that are strung on 2 strands of braided macramé. The end is the macramé loop and stone. The last measures 34” and has lots of beads(mostly painted ceramic& glass) in mostly blues(some black& silver) with various shapes and sizes. The necklace is made with black macramé and has the loop with ceramic bead as the closure. This can be worn in 2 different ways(see pictures) eg. Twisted.
