Triple Strand Faux Pearl Necklace w Black Beads Channel Set Rhinestones Earrings
This is a magnificent faux(I think! pearl and rhinestone necklace in wonderful condition. It could be vintage. I just don't know the age or maker. I feel as if the earrings could have been clip style, and the previous owner converted them to pierced earrings by gluing posts on. They seem to be very strong. The necklace measures 17 1/2" long on the inside strand. The large black half round decoration on the front measures 1 1/4" wide and is channel set with sparkly rhinestones. The earrings are 1 1/8" across, and like the necklace, they are half-round so they are raised up, not flat. There is a small nick or scratch that I didn't notice until I photographed them, and I have taken that into consideration. I'm not at all sure what the black material is on the half round discs, and I'm not sure what the jet black ... morebeads are made of. The pearls are separated by spacer bars with 7 rhinestones each. The metal is goldtone. The closure in the back is slip in the slot, with a pearl covering. Shipping on this gorgeous set is $6.50 including insurance and delivery confirmation. I do combine shipping. Long before wire wrapping became popular here. It was used in designing jewelry in South America. I obtained several pieces from a friend who traveled through there in the 70s. At first I thought these were glass beads. Most of the other necklaces are made of stone beads. Then I noticed that one of the beads in the top row of the necklace had a chip on it(which is not really noticeable but you can touch it up with black paint) It is the second from the left which you can see in the photo. I examined it through a magnifying glass and it appears that it could be some sort of quartz rock with lacquered paint on it. Not very pretty in its natural state. The necklace is 15" long when opened and the dangles hang 2.5 inches. The earrings hang 2 inches. These are made of a non-expensive silver colored metal. Fancy 1940's Celanese Frame Evening Bag / Purse Black Glass Beads
Newly Reduced Price! Was 99.00 This is a beautiful purse! Designer evening bag from the 1940's features an amber frame made of a type of lucite called Celanese plastic. This handbag is in excellent condition and can be used even after all these years. I have only found one other handbag with this same type of Celanese plastic frame. And it is on a lizard skin bag selling for over 600.00 on Ebay. The only distraction from perfect condition is the corners of the frame on one side show stress marks inside the acrylic-but NO CHIPS. Someone probably hit this side on a hard surface and it caused the stress marks but there is no loss of durability. No breaks whatsoever. It is still solid and sturdy. This type of frame apparently will not chip. The inside and outside of the bag are clean and look like the bag has not been used.
