Art Deco Sterling Earrings Faceted Blue & Black Crystal Beads Studio Made
This is a listing for an antique pair of Art Deco sterling silver earrings. They are hallmarked on the back with sterling and the initials HA. They have clip back attachments that work very well. The silver has a warm patina and the faceted beads are in excellent shape with no damage. They appear to be hand cut. As each one is slightly different. I'm assuming they are crystals as they are transparent. They are the color of saphires and don't show any signs of age or wear that you would typically see with antique glass. They are edged on one side with tubular black beads that could be jet, glass or onyx. The black beads are also in excellent condition with no breakage, scratching or dullness. All the beads have a beautiful clear transparent color. The design is classic Art Deco with it's architectural appearance and geometric shape. ... moreThe sterling section is a half circle that measures 1.5 inches in length and.75 inches across. The beaded section bevels off the half circle and is edged on one side. The edging isn't ruler straight. But you wouldn't expect that in a pair of earrings that are studio made as compared to machine made jewelry. The beaded section has a triangular shape and the beads have been strung on silver wires that are soldered to the back of the earrings. The workmanship is precise and beautifully executed. The beaded section measures.75 inches across and an inch in length. The clip's base is on the point of the triangle. So the beaded section attaches to the ear and the polished silver disc bevels slightly off to the side with it's edge falling below the beaded section. The 2nd, 8th and last photo show how they would lay on the ear. These are timeless pieces. As sophisticated and chic as the day they were made, many decades ago. Thank you for looking.

There is a small gold tag adjacent to the clasp that is incised 14k EMB. OCt(c) on one side; the opposite side looks like it has some type of abstract letters and underneath the letters, a teeny round 1.5mm clear diamond. I believe the EMB stands for embossed, which designates the black embossing inside the gold abstract lettering. The oCt insignia is for O.C.
