This is a lovely hand-crafted silver beaded purse with ivory pearl-like rows between diagonally sewn straight silver beads. The silk lining is in excellent condition except for a bit of makeup(see photos) with a side pocket and"Made in France" label. The snap closure works very well. Measuring approximately 7 3/4" at its widest and 5 1/2" high. No missing beads. And it has a finger loop on the back side. All in all, a very beautiful item! Excellent little beaded bag. Offered here at a liquidation price due to some loss in the beading, mostly at the edges of the frame. But. It is so pretty.textured flower designs in a combination of round and faceted tube seed beads. Not sure if I am explaining that as clearly as possible, but study the pics and you'll see- I brightened a couple of them to show more of the texture. The inside has satin lining, a side mirror pocket and the original label from Josef of France. A beaded tab opens the frame when you lift it. Seems to close reasonably tight, but it IS quite old and shows wear at the clasp, so some care is required. The handle is secure with brass rings at the handle and the frame. Despite it's age issues, I'm sure it has a few more years of wear ahead of it. Buy it now. Late 1800s to early 1900s and made in France. Age unverified but period is determined by material used and style of bag. Size of purse bag is 9” long including the collar on top edge(without tassel attached to bottom center) Width of bag is 4.75” on largest part. The main body of the purse is in excellent condition. The flaws are at the top edge of purse where part of the black crochet has been slightly mended. It is under the top edge and therefore not seen. Gathering chain and loops are in tact. The collar and silver beaded fringe are in very good condition. The black lining is there but in poor shape with holes at bottom. This is from my personal collection and I used this purse to ... morehang on the wall. So the inside was not used or seen. See pictures for details of signs of wear and age however because it is black it is very hard to see so I'm listing possible flaws: missing beads; lovely geometric pattern) a few snags in knit. Antique Small Hand Beaded Seed Bead Purse France
Item up for auction This is a nice antique beaded purse with a brass frame and chain handle that was made in France. This purse is hand made with a nice design of swirling ivory colored beads. The interior frame needs cleaning but the lining is in very good condition(see pictures) The outer bead design looks to be in good shape with some of the beads being slightly raised. One small area at the side might be missing a couple of beads; it is hard to tell. The purse measures about 5 inches wide by 4 ¼ inches from clasp to bottom of purse. The chain handle is about 12 inches long. Overall this small purse is in very good antique vintage condition. This would be a wonderful handbag for anyone who collects. This is clean inside and out and has obviously been stored and loved by someone. The metal is all gold toned and the scroll work on the top& sides are beautiful. There is a small spot approx. 1 x 3mm that show wear so look at all the pics carefully. As for the beading. It is glorious! The seed pearls are 99% Again, look at the pics& you can see a few missing here and there. The embroidery is of trailing pink& blue flowers with a green leaf in between. The inside has a pocket& there is a"wallet" with a totally faded mirror on one side& a place for something on the other. This measures approx. 2 1/4" x 2 1/2" The hand bag itself is approx. 6" x 5" with the chain drop of 5" The chain is darker than the framework. The tube beads also line the seams and edges. Although the beads are one color together on the surface they are sewn to have circular pattern. The little purse has a snap closure and when opened has lining of an eggshell fabric that I think might be linen. Beaded change purse lipstick bag that attaches to a belt or can be used as a small clutch. Missing some beads especially under the closure flap. Antique Eve Bag Handmade in France White Seed Beaded on Fabric; Very Beautiful
This is a gorgeous older piece. The beaded evening bag is absolutely stunning in white over a beige tapestry like fabric. The fabric is beaded in white to form beautiful flowers and leaves revealing coral. Red, and blue, red, gold, and green colored areas of fabric. The design and craftsmanship is superb, as it was handmade in France(photo 7) The lining is beige with some staining(photos 6& 7) which is the only flaw or defect to mention. Otherwise the bag really looks great. There is a metal frame at the top with a latched closure which opens and closes securely. The frame is also beaded, as is the latch. It has a metal chain with a 5 and a 1/2 in strap drop, and the weight is about a pound. The bag measures 6 and 3/4 in long by 8 in wide. This truly is a wonderful bag from a time long ago past. Everything about it screams vintage sophisticated ... morebeauty, and the wonderful condition makes it even more desirable. These types of bags are so difficult to find in this kind of condition. Art Deco Style Purse Delill Made in France Vintage Beaded Satin Lined
Beautiful Delill made in France beaded evening bag in very good vintage condition. Kind of an Art Deco style(I do not know the age of this purse it looks 20's- 30's to me but not sure) floral motif on the front in baby blue. Pale pink and a creamy off white color beads and some smokey metallic? beads accenting the design- more simple swirling complimentary line design on back. Beaded brass clasp works perfectly, flips up to open and snaps to close, secure and sturdy. Handle is a rat tail type chain and not original to the purse(at least I don't think it is) I would say the condition of the bead work is very good- there are no loose strings with beads falling off. At the upper front left side there may be a small row of beads missing though I'm not positive it may be how it was made. Intricate micro-embroidered floral design front and back in pinks. Blues and greens. Top of closure is enameled with gold bead accents. Bead strand is loose on one end shown in photos. Clasp is in good working order. Handle is in very good condition. A few minor snags. Satin interior very clean. Pockets on both sides. Including a small pocket for lipstick. Vintage 1920's MADE IN FRANCE Tortoise Lucite Glass Multi Colored Beaded Purse
Offered for sale is a beautiful vintage purse. Vintage. 1920's. Completely hand beaded work. Hallmarked on the inside of lucite frame, MADE IN FRANCE. Bag does need repair, but the main section is intact. Needs to slightly reinforced to fame at top on one side. Interior lining has been cut out, but all hand stitched bead work is intact. Missing some dangles. All beaded handle needs to be reinforced as well to one side of lucite frame. Tortoise lucite frame. 9 1/4" from top of knob at closure to bottom of rounded area of bag, without the fringe. 6 5/8" at widest point. I tried to find matching beads so that I can do the repairs.
