1960s Authentic 100 Ft Beaded Chain Hand Strung Rootbeer Color Great Shape!
This auction is for a throwback to the 60s with this long doorway or room decor 100 ft chain that features rootbeer colored beads of different sizes and shapes that were hand strung and has the bead pattern repeated throughout the chain's length. This great piece is a single string of beaded chain. Similar to the beaded curtains used in doorways, but all in one 100 ft(or more! chain/string. These were used to add to a room's decor and could be used for just about anything. The chain consists of hard root beer colored links with a cord running thru them. The different beads are hand strung to create a pattern, which is seen in the photos. The beads are translucent and allow some light thru, similar to a tortoise shell look. Each type of bead has it's own pattern on it. The chain comes with it's original"Made in Hong Kong" ... morepaper label, although it has deteriorated over the years. Please look at the photos to get a better idea of the true great shape and condition this flashback item is still in. I had some difficulty getting the beads to show up correctly, but the photo of them lying on the darker wood is the closest to their actual color.the other pictures made them seem either too dark or too hard to see. I didn't see any type of damage, although I did see one or two mis-strung beads that deviated from the base pattern of the rest of the beads. All of the bead work is still in great condition considering its age. The seam is ripped along the bottom of the bag(see the third photo) The snap closure works well and there are green. Yellow, and purple rhinestones along the front of the frame. None of the rhinestones are chipped or missing. The lining is in excellent condition aside from a tear. The majority of bags we see like this have lining that has majorly deteriorated. The single chain link strap allows for a 6 3/4 inch armhole. The chain appears to be the original. This vintage. Black, beaded bag dates from the 1960’s and the tag reads“handmade in Hong Kong” It is in absolutely MINT condition. No missing beads, no scuffs or scratches on the frame, pristine lining, original snake chain handle. The bag is 8” x 5 ½” with a gold tone frame and a tight clasp. The chain can be flipped inside and the bag carried as a clutch. The inside lining has one pocket for credit cards and license. The bag is covered with an intricate pattern made from tiny black seed beads and outlined with black tube beads. The design is geometric diamond shapes framed with parallelograms. The tiny seed beads of the diamonds are stitched in one direction and those of the parallelograms in the opposite direction. Adding an optical illusion of depth like stacked boxes in an Escher print. THIS LISTING IS FOR.this beautiful. Antique, 1920s, FLAPPER, cobalt blue, beaded, Silver chain, drawstring, reticule or purse. This lovely purse is not marked. It is a gorgeous blue color and the beading is elaborately done with some diagonal beading and some vertical. It has a vertically beaded design in rows and then the diagonal design at the top. Purse is in excellent condition with no missing damaged beading. There is some slight wear to the silk interior lining ... moreup near the seam. Purse has nice weight to it and the chain link handle is elaborately done in 2 different style links. I believe these chain handles are Sterling Silver because a magnet does not attract them. Inside is clean and in wonderful condition. This reticule measures approx. 16 inches from the top of the handle to the bottom of the tassel. Stretched out like you see it in the photos. It measures 6 inches tall and 5 inches wide if I only measure the purse and not the handles or the tassel. A s usual. 1920's 1930's vintage Beaded purse with chain handles f e F
This old beaded purse was acquired from an estate. Please note. The photo interior is not the color shown. The flash cause it to turn out to be a different color. It actually looks like a flat grayish-greenish coloring. Not gold coloring. The handles are made of chain link type material. The frame work for the top is a mix metal to it(not silver) The purse is made of up of black and off clear tiny seed beads- a lot of work. It measures about 6 1/2" long from top of metal frame to bottom of the looped dangling beads. The actual purse interior is smaller than that. Condition- good with normal wear. It has been used. The metal has a patina to it. The interior show normal age and wear to it. Otherwise it is in good with normal wear and will be sold as is. If you have any questions. Please email us.
