Just a wonderful piece of workmanship. I believe this to be victorian chatelaine which was wore by the women of the house to hold different smaller usable items as needed but I could be wrong. Never the less it is very old and beautiful and in excellent condition. It has a monogram that might be H S L but you should refer to the pictures. It has really nice workmanship on the purse frame and the inside is in great shape also. All the bead work looks good to me and the clip is also quite nice. To open and close the bag you have to push the button on the top. There is a double chain. The beads are very tiny with a branch leaf design on top half and birds I think on bottom. The little change purse came with the bag. It appears to have had a covering at one time that is no longer there. I see know issues with the beading on the bag. The areas that are less than perfect The interior lining is tattered. The accent beading that covers the thread at frame is missing 3/4 of the way exposing the thread. Boudoir. Table lamp, bronze base with the image of lotus flowers and leaves. The shade is pale, pink seed beads. There is a small, doughnut shaped ring around the lamp stem that is pink marble. Pull chain for on/off with a glass pink bead at the end. Lotus flower bulb finial is the top screw that holds the shade on. It has a 40 watt working bulb in it now that gives a nice, soft light. I have 15 beaded purses that belonged to my deceased wife's Grandmother. Who would have been born early 1900s. I believe this is a cosmetic purse? Excellent condition other that the small area where beads are missing(see photo 8) Off white with pale rose and sage designs.
