Circa 1830's, micro"seed" Bead Chain sampler(Neck Ribbon) Most likely from the New England area. It is composed of very fine micro"seed" beads, measures at almost 17" long. There is Fleur De Lis design on the pendant, as well as 2 flowers on the bottom corners of the pendant. Overall, the artist utilized 4 different bead colors. There is one strand of the 4 stranded bead that is missing of one of the 12 sections. There are a few pieces of string that are visible on a few sections. Our research shows that beads this small were all hand made and ceased being made around the mid 1800's. This chain is made from 8. Round, mixed metal napkin rings. They are good size rings. Silver with a light gold band around the outside. They have a dimpled texture that really sparkle in the Sun. Inside on a sunny day they will throw off dozens of sparkly reflections. Each ring is drilled top to bottom and threaded with 12 gauge copper wire. Each ring is beaded with one of a king glass beads inside, top and bottom. Then each ring is connect with a brass swivel that allows each ring to turn or spin individually.
