Vintage Steel Industrial Leather Seat Chair in Red Machine Age This is a very interesting old Machine age or Industrial steel frame chair with a hard leather seat. I am unable to find a manufacturers mark anywhere on the chair. I purchased the chair along with 4 others of the same type at a garage sale and I was told they came out of the GE plant in Syracuse NY. The chairs measure 18 inches tall at the seat the seats measure 15 3/8 inches roughly square The back rest rises 14 inches above the seat. The back rest is adjustable by about 2 inches and the legs are also adjustable by as much as 8 inches. Even the depth of the back rest can be adjusted. The chairs are sill very solid and sound but they have seen a lot of hard use. There is a lot of chipped paint but the chairs are still solid. Even the hard leather seat looks original and in relatively ... moregood condition. The screws that secure the legs are not all original, some take a flat screwdriver and some take Phillips. These are some pretty cool looking chairs and in my research i could find none like them on the internet. The paint is not original. The silver paint on the feet comes off fairly easily. Estimated shipping weight: 25 pounds. These can actually be made fairly compact and be shipped USPS fairly reasonably. This would probably be cheapest to ship via Greyhound freight shipping if you purchase more than 1 chair. It is 33 inches tall to the back of the chair. The seat of the chair is 17 inches from the ground. The back of the chair is 14 inches wide at it's widest point. The seat itself is 17 inches wide in the front and 13 inches wide in the back. The chair is quite old and as such has some condition issues. It has 2 splits on the back that I have tried to take pictures of. One can't be seen at all from the front of the chair. In the case of this chair I would suggest that it be mostly ornamental in nature. Even if this chair were perfect it would not be made to support the average American these days. A small person could sit in this chair with no problems, but I would not suggest ... morethis chair for everyday use. It is really meant to be placed somewhere to look pretty. Fantastic Antique Childs or Dolls Chair Bent Wood frame with Cain Seat. I would date this chair to around the 1880's to 1920's. But could be earlier. The chair stands 15 inches tall to the top of the back and the back is 6 inches tall from the top of the seat. The cain seat measures 12 inches across. It is constructed of a bent wood frame with a black satin finish and a woven cain seat. Assembled with flat head screws that appear to be hand cut. Finish shows some light and appropriate wear for its age. The cain seat is in very good condition with only a few very small unnoticable splits. Cain seat and frame are both strong and sturdy. Vintage Wooden Folding SNYDER CHAIR Theater Church Assembly Wedding Funeral US
This vintage wooden folding chair is quite durable. It has the usual scuffs. Scrapes and discoloration consistent with age and use, but nothing to detract from its overall function and character. Folded, it measures 16" wide, 36" tall and 1.5" thick. Open, the seat is 16" up from the ground and the seat measures 12" wide in the front and 14" wide in the back and 12.75" deep. There are no cracks in the wood, the legs are worn evenly on the bottom, allowing for it to sit flat without wobble. The metal parts are all straight and tight. One side of the back rest has a space, but doesn't seem to affect sturdiness. Please carefully view pictures to further determine condition. I have a very nice antique Maple Slat Back chair in great condition. The slat itself has been made from birds-eye maple. But it does not appear to be anywhere else on the piece. It has been used so it has some wear, but no cracks or structual problems. It is very sturdy, not wobbely at all. It has a hand made quilted back and cushion that are included. I can not see a makers mark, but it is definately quality made. It stands 24 inches tall x 15 3/4 inches wide x 13 inches deep. The seat is 12 inches off the floor.

I Have been Resurching this chair from time to time for over 25 years. I was told it was from 1700 to 1730. 1900 to 1920 and a 86 year old lady that sold Antiques her intire life Dated it 1886. I guess i will never know for sure, if any one can help me on this PLEASE do so. I would rate this Chair in good Condition. Its still in useable cond, sturdy and strong for its day and known for its high back, Back Side from floor to high point is 57 inch. and the front of the seat is 24 inch. Some of the canes color is worn from use and in the front seat part some of the cane has gave way. Sure there is a few scratches and dents but all in all not in bad shape. This Is An Authentic Beautiful Victorian Antique Child's Rocking Chair With An Amazing Fan Shaped Back. It Could Be Used As A Photographer's Prop. This Rocker Was Made By Conant& Bush of Gardner, Mass* It Was Never Painted This Rocker Was Purchased For A Woman Named Jessie Who Was Born In 1888 Her Baby Picture Will Accompany Her Rocker On the back of her baby picture is written"Jessie Born 1888 in Hampton. N.H. This exceptional rocking chair is made of rattan. Reed, and cane. It is in very good antique condition. The chair used to have a caned seat and back. When the center cane pieces broke. Possibly because Jessie stood on it, a wooden seat was placed over the top of the original caned seat. That seat ... morehas holes some of which form at star. The cane remnants are under the wooden seat as shown in the 10th picture. It does have some other condition issues. None of these issues affects the chair's stability. There are several pieces of wound reed missing. Examples are shown in photos 6-8. One area has been bound with copper wire soldered into place. There are a couple of other areas along the chair's arms where the reed binding is broken or is missing. This is simply a stunning and authentic child's reed. Caned rocker that is 133 years old! As of the time I listed this rocking chair. Another Ebay seller was selling a envelope and stamp postmarked 1885 by the chair's makers Conant& Bush. This rocking chair is approx. 23" high. Across the arms the chair is 17 1/2" The back is 15 1/2" high and 15 7/8" wide.

Early 20th C. having acorn finials over three shaped slats, with a incised"1" on back of top slat, over a tapering rectangular seat having blue and white taped seat, raised on turned posts, stretchered, shaped rockers. The surface appears to be original. Probable Mr. Lebanon.Shaker simplicity is nowhere more evident than in chair design. Outwardly straightforward, each element of the design was carefully considered for greatest efficiency in use. This is a tilting chair named for the device attached to the back legs. A ball-and-socket joint was invented by the Shakers so that the chair could be tilted backward without having the legs scratch ... morethe floor or cause unnecessary wear of the rugs. Shaker chairs were famous for being light in weight yet sturdy. Because they were light they could be hung on the walls while the floors were being cleaned; their sturdiness provided durability over many years. Unlike the Amish who were contemporaries, Shaker craftsmen constantly explored new techniques in chair making. Classic, pared-down styling reveals an understanding of balance, proportion, and color that places Shaker designs well above the merely functional. The Shakers always were refining chairs for special needs- such as corner chairs- welcoming a new idea, or fabricating a tool if needed. Antique African Bamum Wood Birthing Chair
Antique African Bamum Wood Birthing Chair Wow. What a great looking piece. The wood and carving on this two piece chair are just very nicely done. The chair was represented as a Bamum birthing chair at the sale I picked it up at. There was a label to that effect on it as well. If you think it is something else, I would appreciate you contacting me as want to make sure the folks whom are looking at and buying items from my store are being provided with accurate information. The back of the chair has a man and woman on it with a man holding something in his hand above them. Even the sides of the back have a carved design in them. Bottom of the seat has the side profile of two people. Again one appears to be a man and one a woman. The seat piece has a pair of elephants on it and then a large lizard or some other critter on the piece of the seat ... morethat sits behind the back. There is a 2.5" crack or split in the seat by the one elephant's trunk. Have seen these pieces before. But first one that I have acquired to sell at an auction. Cannot speak to whether a reproduction or an original. You need to be the judge of that before you acquire it. On the back of the seat and back there is what appears to be a scrolled"7" carved into both pieces. The back piece is 41.25" long by 15.25" across. By 1-3/16" wide. The seat piece is 31.5" long, by 15" across, by 1-3/16" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
